Well..I'm back for my 3rd and final class of Physics (at Pierce)...Physics 103..The Final Battle...

I'm sure there were many unhappy people that came out of that class. Well, at least four for sure. I'll tell you the whole story about the class and me.

Well...I started off better than how I ended Physics 102.. I started off with a 17...You say, "Same score as Physics 102 Finals," but this is out of 25, not out of 30..

These are the scores for the exams in my whole semester, all are out of 25:

17 19 18 13 15 14 21 8 21 20 14 21 22 21

As you can see, I didn't break 20 until the 7th week, and after I got my first 20+ score, I follow that performance with an 8..So... :( .. Poor me.. and I kinda messed up on the finals, I needed 70% to get a B, but I ended up getting only 68% on the finals....crappy huh?? What is goin on here?? I'm sooo confused....I mean I should be used to it, getting C's in Physics and all... So here I go..my 3rd straight C in Physics..

O well, that's enough about me, now I'll discuss a little about the class. The teacher was Dr. Duxler. My sister had taken him for Physics 101, 102, 103.. She said he was easier than Yamada, but I had no choice anyways, he (Duxler) was the only one teaching 103...and I thought he was nice, and knew about things that he was teaching. I think we started off with 17 or 19 people, and we dropped down to 13 at the Final exam(which almost didn't happen, which unfortunately ended up taking place on June 4th, 2003)..

You say, "Why did the final exam almost didn't happen?"..Well, on the 2nd to last week of classes, Dr. Duxler gave everyone a choice if we(the class) want the final exam to take place or not, and if we don't have a final, then we have another quiz on another chapter.. Keep in mind, each quiz weights about 2to3 % of the grade, and the finals is going to be worth 30%..We voted, and if the result of the vote wasn't unanimous in the favor of not having the final, then we would have the finals.. And so we voted...and if you were paying attention in this story, you probably know how the vote turned out..two people ended up voting for the final exam..The class was able to convince one of the guys that voted for having the finals to change his mind. But the 2nd guy was impossible. He was determine to test his skills??? I dunno his motivation. :( I mean, he has about 81 or 82 percent going into last week, and he only needs to get about a 50% on his final quiz to get a B in class.. But he was determined to take the finals..His name will remain anonymouS.

I told you about the 4 unhappy people because all 4 of them, (me being one of them) got a 79,89,89,89, and he gave them C,B,B,B .. and All those people went into the finals above their cumulative grade..

When there is finals for people with borderline 90-91, finals are bad because there is little room for mistake, but for 88-89, it is good to take the finals because you really have nothing to lose, but the guy that wanted to take the finals wanted to get a comfortable B...(I guess I'm dumb, but what's the difference between 89% and 80%, still same ol B...) DAMM..I'm rambling for an hour, but I will ramble on until it gets out of my system....

Anyways, I'm still bitter, I just send Dr. Duxler an email...and hopefully he will reconsider giving me a B....THis is a copy of the actual letter I sent him...so wut u think?? U think he'll change his mind and give me that B???

Dear Dr. Duxler, I (Phanit Pollavith) just saw the final scores, and I received a C in the class. I was borderline (79.3%). I worked really hard in the semester, and volunteered on the board 4 times out of the possible 14 weeks, I really did learn a lot in the class, and I was wondering if you can boost up my grade to a B. Maybe last Quiz (Quiz 14) that we had, if you had left the quiz the way it is, and not take off that question, it would have worked to my advantage, because I dropped from a 22 to 21. And on Quiz 2 (the quiz that you did not curve), there were 20 questions, and the maximum of that was 24/25 which that person probably answered 19 out of 20 questions right, so if you have curved it to the possible maximum, my grade would have been a (15/19)*25 = 20, and if we added up that instead of the Quiz 2 without the curve, my grade would have been 79.6, and you can feel better about giving me that B. Please reconsider my grade.. Thank you very much Phanit Pollavith

Well..I didn't get a reply from him yet..but I hope I get one soon, and no matter what the reply is, I'll be fine with it because at least I gave it a shot.

If you actually read through this whole story, then you must (A). Be in that Physics class (B). Be really bored (C). Have a lot of time on your hand (D). Be a stalker (E). Think that I'm really buff, and stuff

so..which one are you?? Haha...I had to give you a multiple choice question on the story..Well, I read through about 50 of those on my Physics Finals, and 6 more essay questions..

These are things I would like to say good bye to after this class, and the Physics series

GOOD BYE UCLA!! :( :( :(

GOOD BYE Physics :) :) :)

GOOD BYE DR. Yamada, and Dr. Duxler :) :) :)

But lets look on the bright side, I can get the Math/Physics Certificate after completing up to 103, and completing math 275..So, there is an upside through all this suffering afterall..

For the record (if you didn't know), I would like to quote myself... "I HATE PHYSICS" ... Hate Hate Hate... I feel a deed, deep, verrrrrrrrry deep hatred for physics..... Nice story huh??

The saga continues...After 3 weeks, I still got no reply from my email begging him for a B..I think he's really really giving me a C.

After 2 semesters have gone by, I have not talked to Dr. Duxler again...WIMP!!!

But the thing is that eventhough Dr.Yamada gave me 2 C's in 101, 102, I still have a good student/teacher relationship and an occasional conversation with him, but Dr. Duxler?? O me o my....Ok...my momma said if i don't got anything nice to say, don't say anything..so shhhhhhh

So, that's how the story ends, I end up getting C's in the Physics series... I learned a lot, eventhough I've gotten 3 C's in 101,102,103.

If I had a chance to take these classes all over again, I would get 3 A's. :) But I won't want to go through that again...DAmmmmm, those Physics classes are bringin down my GPA.

Mrs.GPA: Hi, what did you learn today?

Mr.GPA: I dunno, but my GPA is goind way down south!!
