From mounting displays, cooking, cleaning and grounds-work to hosting official functions, administration, fundraising, bar-work or stewarding of competitions - there are a plethora of opportunities for anyone and everyone willing to contribute. The Society relies heavily on the work of volunteers and attributes the ongoing success of The Grafton Show to the valuable contributors involved. Those who participate through volunteering for the Society can expect to develop meaningful and lasting networks, both within the Society and the region. Currently there are volunteers, young and old, male and female, working side-by-side and having fun, educational, enriching experiences. Many of those involved with the Society have been carers or recently retired, just relocated to the area, looking to boost their confidence or wish to become involved in the community. Participants develop skills that assist them to gain or enhance employment and training opportunities as well as provide an important activity for people wishing to contribute to a team environment. If you are interested in participating with the Society please phone the Show Secretary on (02) 6642 2240 or visit Grafton Show Office at Grafton Showground, Prince Street, Grafton.
