Shabaam Sahdeeq started writing lyrics as an hobby, inspired by MC's as Rakim and Slick Rick. When he hooked up with Mark Sparks and Nick Wiz things became more serious. For six years they made demo's, there first joint was called "Taking Care of Business" by the name Sinister Voices Crew. Then he dropped some freestyles on the Echo unlimited mixtapes.
In 1996 he released his firstsolo 12" called 'So Real'. In 1997 he hooked up with Us3, a jazz-hiphop group. He appeares on the "Broadway & 52nd" album. In 1998 he dropped two great 12"es: Side 2 Side/ Arabian Nights and Soundclash/ Pendilum/ Five Star Generals ft. Eminem, Skam, A-L & Kwest. One year later the 12" Are You Ready/ Concrete ft. Xzibit dropped.
Right now 'double S' is working on two projects. His first solo EP called "Scandalous" is supossed to drop this spring. On the album are guest appearances by Pharoahe Monch, Xzibit, Kool G Rap, Black Son, Lady Kean and some other heads. The album contains 18 tracks. The first single is allready released, it's called 3D. The second project is the EP 'Rhyme Related' with the group Polyrhythm Addicts: Shabaam Sahdeeq, Mr Complex & Apani B with DJ Spinna doing the prodution. Guest appearances are (again) Pharoahe Monch, Mr Man and Whut Whut. The EP is gonna be released on Nervous Records, which caused some problems for SS at Rawkus records. After appearances on Soundbombing (I & II), Lyricist Lounge, Pharoahe Monch's Internal Affairs and a lot more, the future's lookin good for Shabaam Sahdeeq. |
