Grandpa
(tell me 'bout the good old days)

Grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days
Sometimes it feels like this worlds gone crazy
Grandpa, take me back to yesterday
When the line between right and wrong
Didn't seem so hazy

(Chorus)

Did lovers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside each other, come what may
Was a promise really something people kept
Not just something they would say
Did families really bow their heads to pray
Did daddies really never go away
Oh, grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days

Grandpa, everything is changing fast
We call it progress, but I just don't know
And grandpa, Let's wander back into the past
And paint me the picture of long ago

(Repeat Chorus)

Did lovers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside each other come what may
Was a promise really something people kept
Not just something they would say and then forget
Did families really bow their heads to pray
Did daddies really never go away
Oh, grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days
Oh, grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days

Oh, grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days
Oh, grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days

"daddies really never go away"

In memory of my dad     Lindsy Scott

We see a lot of "hurt" in our children today.
This song by "The Judd's" tells us about a child talking to
his grandpa about the good old days.
The child wants life to be safe and his family together.

The letter below was written about 15 years ago to
a "grandpa" from his small grandson. I am sure it
will touch your heart and it did mine.
The grandpa is Dennis Naylor.
In Dennis Naylor's own words ....
"Eric wrote this when he was in grade school,
it is so touching to me I can't read it without chocking up."
You have to be a very special person to get
a letter like this.

"One person that is important to me is my grandpa. He's always there for me when I need someone to talk to or when I don't have any thing to do we'll just "hangout". He cares for me a lot and we enjoy doing stuff together.

He lives close to me, so during the summer my friends and I ride over to his house. Then he'll take us to Dairy Queen when it's hot out or he'll take us fishing.

My grandpa has taught me a lot of stuff, like how to play sports, carving wood, throwing a Frisbee, how to fish and a lot about God.

Sometimes when I go over to his house he lets me use his circular saw to cut wood. I enjoy doing that. My grandpa has many other saws because he's a wood carver. He's been carving for many years.

I like when my grandpa gives me stuff it makes me fell good. He knows just what I want.

I use to see him every Sunday but now I don't because I go to a different church.

My grandpa is lucky to still be alive because he has had three aneurysm and a heart attack. He can only see with one eye because the other one got shot out in the war.

I think my grandpa is cool because if I do something wrong he doesn't get as mad as my parents do.

I've been around him ever since I was a baby. I love my grandpa a lot and I hope he never dies, because I'd not only be loosing a grandpa but a great friend."
