Mrs. A.J. Gilchrist Dies.
Former Resident of North English Passes Away in Kansas
Amanda Jane Williams was born near Limestone, Tenn., August 27th,
1847, and died at her home in Macksville, Kansas, Feruary [sic], 6,
1918, aged 70 years, 5 months and 10 days.
She was married to John H. Gilchrist in 1870. they were the parents of
five children. All of them were home during her illness. The children
follow; Charles and Mrs. Ida Johnson of Oklahoma, Alager and Mrs. Jane
Davidson of Macksville and Mrs. Fannie Neal.
Mrs. Gilchrist had been in failing health for a number of years. The
funeral was held at Machsville. Deceased formerly lived at North
English for many years and moved to Kansas about 30 years ago. She is
remembered by a large circle of friends in this community, especially
by the older people.
