Reese was appointed estate of deceased father, David Morgan in 1835 in ScottCo, IN. In 1838, Reese executed an indenture in connection with the estate of his father. He was a member of a committee to supervise repairs of court house in 1844 in Scottsburg, Scott, IN. He was appointed trustee of the Methodist Church in 1845 in Lexington, Scott, IN. He was a member of building committee to build new jail in 1847 in Lexington, Scott, IN.

Reese traveled to a military hospital to bring home fatally ill son-in-law John Elliott in 1863 to Mound City, IL.

This land record was received from Harold Davey:
``On 10 Feb 1887 Sylvester Paswater bought at a ScottCo tax sale land previously owned by Cynthia Morgan: 50 A., part of SWQ, Section32, Township 3 North, Range 8 East. Beginning at NW corner, SWQ, then S 60 rods, E 103 1/3 rods, N 60 rods, W 133 1/3 rods to beginning. On 3 Oct 1887 Sylvester conveyed this tract to his father, William Paswater. William Paswater filed suit in Scott Circuit Court June Term 1890 for Quiet Title to this land. Defendants: Jabez R. Morgan, Rebecca Morgan, Josephus Paarsons, Permelia Parsons, Willis Morgan, Mary F. Morgan, Milton Kimberlin, Edward Morgan, Zwingler Morgan, Jese Morgan, Chas. Switzer, Anna Switzer, Frederick Switzer, Danl Talbot.''

According to family tradition written up in Jackson Co. DAR records, ``John Hunt Morgan, on his raid through Indiana, stopped to visit with his relative, Reece Morgan, of Lexington, Ind., a son of David and Sarah Morgan. During the visit his men were helping themselves to Reece Morgan's horse, chickens, and other property, all of which had to be returned when General Morgan learned about it.'' This same article also states that John Hunt Morgan was a relative, and also that Reece's grandfather David Morgan was a brother of Sarah Morgan, who married Squire Boone, the parents of Daniel Boone. None of those relationships seem to be true from evidence I have seen.
