May 2004 - Introduction
Here's the plan.

If you live in a state that's a virtual lock for either President Bush or Senator Kerry, vote for Dean. States like Virginia, California, New York, and Texas are such locks that, if you aren't blowing with the prevailing winds, you're not going to make a difference. There aren't enough Democrats in Texas to send those electoral votes flying off to Kerry, and California sure as hell isn't going to send their fifty-five to Bush.

Since, in these lock states, a few votes really won't make much of a difference, I urge you to vote for Howard Dean. This years election is going to be decided in Pennslyvania, Florida, Ohio, and other tossup states. If you live there, I urge you not to participate in this, because you're the ones who'll be selecting the president. But those of us in the non-tossup states, we can rock this vote, show a great protest, and revive American populism in one grand protest.

No, he's not going to win, but we can send a very powerful message, and hopefully, we can prequalify Dean for Federal matching funds in 2008. This will be a long process, and it's about time we got started.

Vote for Dean. Reject the system.
I am not a liberal. I am not a democrat. I tend to be more center-right and consider myself a philosophical libertarian. But I'm sick and tired of seeing the United States run by men beholden to special interests and big business, and I've come to a conclusion: there's only one way out of this, and that way is to knock down the system.

I watched the Dean campaign with an almost morbid fascination, as this unknown dark horse found a receptive audience for his voice: get the special interests out. He built his campaign on $100 donations, and galvanized a disenchanted segment of the population. People were excited at the prospect of real, populist change. And this, friends, the Democratic party could not have.

So, we found ourselves with one John Kerry, and with people who say that they aren't so much voting for Kerry as they are not voting for Bush. Kerry seems to be despised by the bulk of his support base, the populist grassroots movement that thrust Howard Dean into the forefront of American politics. This is a disgrace: we have a candidate who's only real plus in the eyes of his people is that he isn't George W. Bush.

So, why should we vote for this man? Many people who detract from Bush seem to find Kerry little better, but they support him anyway, saying that it's best to get Bush out of office, that that's the real issue. I disagree. American populism suffered a huge blow when the Dean campaign faltered, and the issue this election is to take back our government from the corporations and special interest lobbies that control
both parties.

So let's mess with the system a bit. (continued above)
