Ezekiel is believed to be the oldest son of William and Modesta Gray.  He was born in Taylor Township (outside Magnolia), Columbia County, Arkansas.

He was married to Ida "Roxie" Roberts on 8 Aug 1891 in Hempstead County Arkansas.  Ida was the daughter of John Joseph Roberts (b: Oct 1842 GA) and Martha Jane Slayton (b: Jun 1843 GA).  Roxie was born Mar 1874 in Arkansas.

Ezekiel and Roxie first appear in Garland with their two daughters, Willie and Hazel in 1900.  In 1910 they lived in Ozan Twp, Hempstead County, Arkansas

Ezekiel remarried by 1930 to Helris "Eloy". He was a restaurant proprietor in Dallas.

In 1937, Ezekiel was the operator of a fruit stand in Dallas, TX area.  His address was 1301 Canton where he had been living for approximately 25 years.

Ezekiels end was tragic.  He burned to death when his house accidently caught fire about 1 a.m on the morning of 21 Nov 1937.  The informant was A.L. Roberts of 1431 Denly Dr. in Dallas who may be related to Roxie.

He is supposedly buried in Pleasant Mound cemetery in Dallas according to his death certificate.  The cemetery has been unable to verify his plot and believe it may have been in a similar sounding cemetery taken over by the city for neglect some years ago.

Roxie passed away 18Jan1940 in the home of her daughter, Hazel in Hope, Arkanssas.  She was survived by; Kelly of Hope, Russell of Los Angeles, Mrs. J.T.Hodgins of Oklahoma City, Miss Hazel Gray of Hope, and several brothers and sisters.  Ida, Hazel and Kelly G. Gray and his wife Delma are bured in the Rosehill Cemetery Block #47 in Hope.
