Gray Family Migration
Migration Path of the Gray Family.
KEY: William  Rosaline   Ezekiel Aquillah
Based on census data and birthplaces provided by Art Burket, we can establish a migration path for the family.
Pre-1870:  William could have removed from the Flat Lick area of LA where Thomas Gray originally settled in the 1820's.

1860:  Rosaline is shown in the census living with her mother in Smackover, AR.

Abt. 1867: Rosaline and William are married.  Location unknown.

1870: Taylor, Columbia County AR   Based on 1870 census data.  Ezekiel and Aquilah claimed their birthplace as Magnolia which is the largest town in the area.

1880:  Mineral Spings, Howard County AR  Based on 1880 census data.

1883: DeAnn, AR, Nevada County AR  This was provided as the birthplace of Alonzo in family bible.

1886: Jonesbourgh (near Little Rock) AR  This is based on Family information of Art Burkett.  Jonesbourgh is listed as the place of William Walters death in 1886.  Jonesbourgh is a very small community in North Little Rock.  It does not fit very well into the rest of the family information and may have been a hospital that William was taken to.

1890: William dies at Church in DeAnn.  He is buried in Holly Grove Cemetery in Garland.

1891: Ezekiel is married in Hempstead County, presumably in Hope area.

1894: Rosaline dies and is buried with her husband William.  There is no evidence that the brothers remained together from this point forward  Family stories indicate that they were seperated to relatives.

1897: Aquillah states in his memoirs that he came to DeQueen from Hope.  This suggests that the family may have been living in the general Hope/DeAnn area 1883-1890's.

1910: Ezekiel and his family appear in the census living in Ozan.
