| i have lived all my life in California, my birthday is April 12th 1960, (making me just 40 at the time i built this page, and you can do the math for how old i am now) ... Single mom, 3 kids, my youngest, Simon is 12, my middle, Amethyst is 16, & my oldest Crystal is 25 (living in Az). Gramma to three babygirl dolls, Calie who was born on May Day (May first for those of you not of the older religions), born in Oct. Nyah Lee and Ismana a December baby ... my name at birth was Heather Fay Burson. i have been called many things over my life, all of them fitting me at the time. Heather Fay, Feather Hay, feather, heath, heathie, and even Gorse, and now i have settled into using my legal initials HB tho' some do call me Amber or beauty ... i was teaching special education, something that drew me because of my own learning disability. i have Dyslexia, a whole story of it's own growing up with a "Non-Normally" functioning brain, and not having a name or pattern to the 'dis-ease' until my early 20's. Deciding to become a student again myself, i returned to school. As i do not have the right degrees or credentials, and without them i was badly taken advantage of by the system, (under paid, no benefits, etc), and this time it was WORKING!! With great support of family and a man i love, the new software, and California State law of "the disabilities acts", i became a straight "A" student, and drank in the knowledge so long denied me. Taking a chance, i left working to finish my education. Going to school on scholarship, living on grants, my dream of going into Psychology may be lived ... one day ... Unhappily, not right now ... i have been forced to drop out and return to work, so i can keep a roof over our heads, and food on the table. However the job i dropped out for laid me off after one year. Now i piece it together with luck in temp work, and unemployment as a last resort. With only a High School diploma i do the best for us as i can. The man mentioned? i still love him, but it is better for us to be just great friends. i just recently let my two younger kids move in with their father, so i now live with two cats, and a mix of many fish ... i pray to one day return to school once more and live my dream ... you can tell from my likes, i write, and dream, and stitch, and love... |
