The Return of Ancient Rome By Stephen Gray Ancient Rome in history Collapsed from debauchery They say its leaders went quite mad That any good became bad Do we see amongst our wealth That history is repeating itself We have debauchery today Has Ancient Rome returned to play? Rome’s leaders participated in moral degradation Is the same happening within our nation? Filth has become legitimized Opposing filth is decried Ancient Rome paraded filth Depravity, amongst all its wealth Today we parade the same as Rome Decency is held up to scorn The law, once was a moral compass Now “equality” takes the place of justice Right is wrong and wrong is right Power is judicial might The law is now an instrument of perversion Ancient Rome had this subversion Madness replaced any normalcy Are we seeing the repeat of history?
