B.S. Crosses the Floor by Stephen Gray Why all the fuss about Belinda Stronach (B.S.) crossing the floor? Her ethics on this matter prove she is a good fit with the Liberals. In fact, a former Ontario Liberal Premier was quoted as saying about Madame B.S., "...she has the heart of a Liberal..." (Globe and Mail, May 18/05). Which brings to mind that old saying, "Home is where the heart is" and the heart of Madame B.S. has now found it's Liberal home. This raises the question, does Miss B.S. have a fickle heart? It was only a short time ago that she was heartless in her criticism of the Liberal government and Paul Martin, now she has joined them. Is she an example of hypocrisy walking and talking? She now supports a Liberal government that has been called corrupt. We are told the reason Miss B.S. crossed the floor was that she was unhappy for some time and had been "scolded" by her leader. She confided in an eminent person about this and he made a few phone calls to other eminent persons to arrange the double cross, and hey presto, the transfer was done for B.S. to move into Liberal hands. The deal was done over a nice dinner and this is how the Liberals swallowed B.S. It was a plot worthy of a spy novel, secrecy sustained until the moment of coming out. One might say this was how B.S. came out from the scold. There is no truth to the rumour that CSIS was involved or that a drop was made to confirm good faith bargaining. Though, one newspaper did describe the drop as a "Blonde Bombshell", anyways, now the Liberals are happy and de-briefing of the latest political traitor to join their ranks is in operation. This B.S. sellout caused quite a bit of furore amongst people who still had ethics. Many spoke out forcefully about this political disloyalty and did not mince their words. Then the political harridans on the hill got in on the act and screamed that B.S. was being unfairly stereotyped. Some of the politically correct media took their cue from the politically correct harridans and also wondered whether Miss B.S. was being treated unfairly. But hey, this is our country today where treachery is tolerated and being ethically challenged makes one a political hero. Still, the Prime Minister said it was a "gutsy" move by Miss B.S. to join the Liberals. Though one would think any person with moral principles would think otherwise. Surely, betraying your Conservative party colleagues and your constituents who elected you is political treachery and not "gutsy", but contemptible. But, political principles are in short supply these days and the debasement of them has become the Liberal norm. Political vomit has replaced political truth and the result is a political sickness that corrupts all it touches. We saw the political sickness on TV when the Liberals gave a standing ovation and big hugs to mistress B.S. for her floor crossing antics. This is how low politics has sunk where treachery and deceit are rewarded with applause and a cabinet position with the title of "Honourable". Any of our younger generation watching this political pigfest are surely learning that this type of behaviour breeds "success" and that honest principles can be discarded at will and that Liberals will defend any criticism of deceit and duplicity. In fact, any condemnation of Miss B.S. has resulted in people being accused by a Liberal Parliamentary screeching hypocrite as "sexist" and "misogynist". The truth must not be told about political traitors who flee to the Liberal camp. Another political traitor in the Liberal camp described the move by Madame B.S. as being "loyal to her values." One can only say to that: Some loyalty! Some values! When B.S. crosses the floor to join corruption. Stephen Gray May 19, 2005 graysinfo@yahoo.ca http://www.oocities.org/graysinfo |
