How To Corrupt A Country

                                                          by Stephen Gray

In every society there are rules of behaviour. What if these rules which are supposed to be for the common good were turned upside down and good became bad and bad became good? Impossible you would say! This could never happen in a sane society. Ah, but society is only as sane as the powers that rule it. Those who have the power, be it politicians or judges, are a law unto themselves. Judges hold power until 75 years of age and most politicians’ are rewarded with pensions for life, even if they are eventually kicked out of office: And their "legacy" lives on.

An example of this is the collection of politicians who imposed the so-called "Charter of Rights and Freedoms" upon us. The people of course never got a chance to vote on this document that has corrupted the country. This was a document that was heralded as a shining beacon of all the freedoms but instead is a document that robs people of freedom and enshrines compulsion, decadence, perversion and even madness upon society.

Who in their right mind would have believed that the powers that be would dictate that two people of the same-sex could get married? Yet some of our "intelligentsia" in the judiciary have declared this is acceptable and normal. According to them "The Charter" covers this type of abnormality under "equality." Sodomy rules supreme. Not to be outdone many of our politicians are agreeing with the judges and are going to pass a "law" on this absurdity. Truly the lunatics are out of the asylum and in the corridors of power. The phrase "power mad" is a good description of these people.

"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely" Lord Acton

The above quote aptly sums up the state Canada is in today. Judges and politicians have absolute power over us. Corruption and perversion have been legitimized. Friends and insiders of the government are awarded "patronage appointments." This, translated, means they get to live off the taxpayers. One political appointee even got a nice deal from Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA). According to the Financial Post of June 26, 2003, "the tax collectors officially wiped out his back taxes of $606,947 in return for payment of just $67,726." Meanwhile this guy was also running amok with his expense accounts, eating up a storm and travelling the world on the tab of the taxpayer. Though to be fair, this guy is the only one recently in the public spotlight, there have been others who use taxpayers money as their own special bank for withdrawals.

The Vancouver Province of June 22, 2003, had the headline "Volunteers run afoul of taxman" the article went on to say "Canada Customs and Revenue Agency has come down hard on two Victoria hospital volunteer organizations for failing to pay GST." Something is rotten in the CCRA when a political appointee gets off the hook for over $500,000 he owes the tax department; yet volunteers in a hospital are harassed. It just doesn't add up!!! Do we have a political "family" running the country granting favours to its political family? The underworld families are small potatoes compared to these political shysters. And to think they are given the title "honourable" and "right honourable." They have brought shame upon the country and themselves. They show contempt for the people and democracy. It's all a big joke, only we the people are not laughing. This judicial and political show is never ending and the performers are judges and politicians. The price of admission is our tax dollars. And we pay to be punished by the clowns in their judicial courts and by the political clowns in their asylum on the Hill. Most people believe there is corruption in high places yet many, especially in eastern Canada, continue to vote for corruption - specifically in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec, for this is where the most seats are. So the deck is stacked when it comes to elections.

"The poll, reported this week in the National Post, is an indictment of Canada's elected officials at all levels. Of the 1,500 Canadians polled, 69% said the federal level is highly or somewhat corrupt." (National Post editorial, April 24, 2002.)

The editorial went on to say: "...most other modern nations have developed institutions that provide a defence against political corruption. Canada is, however, noticeably deficient in this regard." Of course, our great leader had this to say to his M.P's on corruption in government: "Start telling them that we're honest." (Jean Chretien quoted in National Post, April 25, 2002.)

How does a country recover from corruption? How do the people get justice if "justice" is no longer just? How do you remove judges from their thrones when some of their rulings are perverted? For instance, a "Quebec Court judge Raymonde Verreault decided to give a lenient sentence to a man who repeatedly sodomized his stepdaughter on the ground that he had 'spared her virginity...'" The judge went on to say that "she had suffered no 'permanent scars' and sentenced the man to a prison term of just 23 months." (Vancouver Sun Jan. 18, 1994.) And of course another judge said a pervert's work had "artistic merit," and the infamous Singh and Pushpanathan rulings allowed criminals and drug pushers into Canada.( Globe and Mail Nov. 16, 1999, editorial "Sham Refugees")

The National Post of June 11, 2003, had the headline "Reform the IRB." This editorial states about the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) that "the RCMP is recommending that two IRB judges...be charged for allegedly accepting bribes as judicial officers." the article goes on to say, "both of whom were Liberal appointees with strong connections to Cabinet ministers..." The Vancouver Sun of June 14, 2003, said, "Justice Minister Martin Cauchon's unwillingness so far to proceed with bribery charges against the two men...has raised eyebrows...that the case contains potential for severe embarrassment in the upper echelons of the government."

But cheer up, at least we still have Canadian culture; here are some examples: "The Banff Centre, one of the country's most prestigious institutions, has provided about $1,300 in financial assistance for a Mexican performance artist to ejaculate into glass vials..." (National Post Dec.5, 2001.) This Centre receives, "$1- million annually from the Department of Canadian Heritage." (National Post, Dec. 13, 2001.)

Another dollop of our culture is described in the National Post of June 21, 2003. An article headlined, "Lessons in democracy from a pile of poo" states: "...a show that opened Thursday at Ottawa's SAW gallery, titled Scatalogue: 30 years of crap in contemporary art." The article goes on to say: "According to the gallery's Web site, excrement 'has been a persistent metaphor and medium since the beginnings of Modernism, inspiring the imagination of many influential thinkers and artists.'" Now we know where these "influential thinkers," the politicians and judges get their ideas from. They are "inspired" by excrement. The article also says, "the SAW gallery received a $72,000 operating grant last year from the Canada Council for the Arts." Could this could be called subsidizing crap? Myself I think this type of grant stinks. Now we know why the country is going down the toilet.

But never mind, at least some people still have "pride." The Globe and Mail of June 30, 2003 had the headline: "Marriage ruling fuels Pride parade" The article went on to say about the Gay Pride parade in Toronto, "Members of a group calling itself TNT!MEN-Totally Naked Toronto Men Enjoying Nudity-strolled the route naked...." Obviously this group has influence with the authorities when they are allowed to parade their genitalia in public.. And in the Globe and Mail also of June 30, 2003, another article had the headline: "The nation is losing its historic integrity. Hurrah!" The writer had this comment to make: "Canada is not degenerating into Sodom and Gomorrah by extending marriage rites to gays...." and he went on to say: "This nation is a miracle in progress." And who would argue with that?

How do you replace a political and judicial system gone haywire? We are seeing decadence replace decency, lies become truths, the abnormal declared normal, free speech is a "hate crime" if it criticizes perversion and "The Charter" is used as a judicial sledgehammer to beat us into submission. The friends of political friends are usually appointed to all the boards, commissions or inquiries and few decisions are made to restore integrity. Are we so beaten down that we must accept the degradations, filth and corruption that is put upon us and our children? Will anyone say enough? Or is it too late, and must we succumb to this disease of corruption? The question has to be asked: Would you tolerate someone imposing their degradations or corruption on your family? Of course not. Then why are we allowing these political and judicial crackpots to corrupt our country?
