Four Turkeys
By Stephen J. Gray

It was getting near Christmas and three turkeys were hungry for power
So they formed a coalition; Oh what a shower
They clucked and they fluttered their wings on the stage
Should these three turkeys be in a cage?

They wanted to rule the animal farm
And protect all the animals from unnecessary harm
One was a socialist bird of prey
Who thought he would finally seize the day

One was a separatist bird, hungry to rule
Just another turkey from the turkey school
He fed off the land he wanted to leave
Was he ruling with intent to deceive?

One was a bird who had already seen defeat
But was now a turkey trying to lead
He was a gobbler who wanted to rule
This was a turkey who was not really cool

The fourth turkey was the elected leader of the land
He was fighting to maintain control of the band
So he asked his supporters to fly to his aid
And stop this undemocratic three-turkey raid

Meanwhile the owners of Turkey Land
Were fed up with this animal band
They decided to cook the three turkeys and have them for lunch
And only the ruling turkey was left of the bunch
