The ‘Most Important’ Election By Stephen Gray “Prime Minister Paul Martin assailed Conservative Leader Stephen Harper during yesterday's private caucus session and told his MPs they are about to embark upon the ‘most important’ election in the country's history…” (Globe and Mail, May 6, 2004.) Who could argue with the above statement? It surely is the most important election for a lot of reasons. If the Liberals get re-elected they will have every right to believe a majority of the people don’t care about what happens with their tax dollars. We have $100 million misspent in the sponsorship scandal. In fact an article in the National Post of Feb. 25, 2004 stated: “…$100 million in commissions went into the pockets of advertising firms…” If people vote Liberal, after the misuse of their hard earned money , the Liberals can rightly assume these people like being abused and are really brain dead. After all, who in their right mind would support a party that still hasn’t got to the bottom of this scandal? If this party gets another mandate the message that will be sent is: Do whatever you like. Take our money, do what you will to us, we don’t care. At least the Auditor General cares; she had this to say about taxpayers money: "I think this is such a blatant misuse of public funds that it is shocking. I am actually appalled by what we've found." – Auditor General Sheila Fraser And Conservative MP John Williams said, "This is corruption at the highest level … Democracy is being threatened here." Prime Minister Paul Martin stated the following after the release of the report: "I had no idea what was going on here" (Above quotes from CBC News Online | February 12, 2004). Yet after all the evidence reported in the Adscam scandal, Prime Minister Paul Martin was reported as saying "…he was going to run on the record of the past 10 years of good Liberal government and the record of the past 10 years" (Canoe News, May 12, 2004, “Martin Signals June 28 Election by Alexander Panetta). Mr. Martin was finance minister for a number of years, yet said he knew nothing of the sponsorship scandal. Does this mean he is incompetent? Surely any competent Minister of Finance would know where huge amounts of the peoples’ tax dollars were going? Does this sound like “good liberal government?” “We are seen as a bunch of God damn liars and Fiberals.” said Liberal Stan Keyes (Conservative Party Release, June 11, 2004). Now let us look at some of the “past ten years of good Liberal government.” We have liberal judges who say criminals are “morally worthy” to vote. Just think, it is entirely possible that some of the criminal vote could return a Liberal to power. How does that make you feel? We now have a “hate crimes” law passed by the Liberals and given final approval by a non-elected Senate that gives a special interest group the ability to suppress free speech. We already have laws in this country that protect everyone. But it seems these special people have special rights and the majority have to accept this as “democracy.” We have criminals running loose in the country and we are not allowed to know who they are because of Liberal “privacy laws.” Great! We really are a caring, tolerant society. The only intolerant people are the normal, tax paying, law abiding people who have to put up with this “tolerance.” We have gag laws brought in by the Liberals and given the go ahead by appointed liberal judges. The politicians can spend as much money as they like with OUR tax dollars, yet we the people are restricted as to how much we can spend of OUR money to criticize them. The judge said this was a violation of The Charter but imposed the gag law anyway. Of course it was just a coincidence the decision came down in time to limit the views of the people during this election. But hey, we live in a “democracy” don’t we? “Democracy” has never been more evident. Criminals running loose and their privacy protected, criminals voting, the peoples’ free speech limited. Anything goes!! Men are marrying men and women are marrying women. Wedding bells are ringing across the country. There are all kinds of happy couples wearing wedding bands. As usual our non-elected, liberal judiciary are breaking down all the taboos and have declared that people of the same-sex can marry each other. Never mind that there was a vote in Parliament that declared the obvious -- that marriage could only be between a man and a woman. Of course sensible people know this. But it seems some of our elected representatives had some kind of mental breakdowns and changed their vote. Now they believe that people of the same-sex can get married. The final arbiter of this question on marriage will be the judiciary. Who, if they run true to their usual “consistency,” are expected to say this type of coupling is “normal.” But hey, once you “read in” words not written then anything can be “normal” for our judicial emperors. They must feel the chill handing down these decisions with no clothes on. No clothes emperors are the fashion in Canada today. Our Liberal emperors want a new mandate to continue their rule over us. Will they get it? The choice is up to you. The Liberal ad says: “Choose your Canada.” Choose a Liberal and you can look forward to even more of the aforementioned Liberal “values” being imposed on you, should they win this “most important” election.
