#4 Letter From Loonie Land by Stephen Gray Dear All, Hope you got my last letter. I have some great news on our currency. The Loonie Land Industry Minister says his goal is to have our "dollar worth at least US80cents by 2010." One thing is for sure -- this guy intends to stick around for another eight years. He must be clairvoyant and know his Loonie Land constituency is going to re-elect him. At least now we have something to look forward to, an 80cent US dollar and another eight years of this guy. Is this a political bonus or what? I just can’t wait for 2010. How about you? Did you know we have a new Poet Laureate for Parliament? One of his duties is to write poetry for special occasions and sponsor poetry readings. The Poet Laureate was quoted as saying about the English alphabet: "There is a potential energy within it equal to the power of the universe itself." Somebody should tell The Little Guy to get hold of an english alphabet and feel "the power of the universe" then he’ll never want to leave. I see charges have finally been laid in Loonie Land’s "tainted-blood scandal." A report on the "tainted blood" described it as: "A nationwide public health calamity..." An article in a national newspaper said: "What he uncovered was a bureaucracy that failed to act, individuals who refused to make decisions because they were afraid of offending the gay community,..." The article went on to say that the federal government acted "too slowly to the threat of blood-borne AIDS." This newspaper better be careful, it is pointing out "an identifiable group" and could be accused of a "hate crime", even if the evidence is true. Don’t they know this is Loonie Land and truth is a crime? It was interesting to note that this national newspaper and a columnist in another paper were the only ones to mention the "gay" connection to the tainted blood. The rest of the media were more interested in political correctness than truth in journalism. Anyway this is Loonie Land living up to its name, where freedom to spread disease is more important than public safety. Yes, truth is a crime in Loonie Land. There was a story on the T.V. news tonight about a school teacher who is in danger of losing his job. Why is that you might ask? It seems the teacher wrote letters to newspapers criticizing the homosexual agenda of his trade union. The union charged him with "conduct unbecoming a member." Big Brother and Big Sister in the trade union will now decide what a person can write. This is Loonie Land where free speech and free _expression is dictated by trade unions. Even the floor of Parliament is used as a forum for a sexual lifestyle. We have some Loonie Land members of Parliament who agree with the age of consent being at 14 years of age. In saner times when parliamentarians had some ethics and courage, they would have had such M.P.’s removed from the house. Now they sit and listen to their political nonsense and some even apologize to them. This is why we are known as Loonie Land. According to a columnist in a magazine we have a cabinet minister "who is notorious for having been involved in the gay sex trade." He is also a supporter of "same sex marriage." One wonders why the mainstream press has never done a story on this, especially when they expose clergymen, school teachers and others who are involved in the illicit sex business. I keep forgetting this is Loonie Land where a certain lifestyle is a protected "right" and exposing it is a "hate crime," even though the lifestyle brings disease and death to many of those who practice it. A national newspaper has just discovered that we are losing our freedoms. I have news for them: we lost our freedoms years ago when the Orwellian "Charter of Rights and Freedoms" was introduced into Loonie Land. The so-called "Freedom Charter" was passed into "law" by politicians, without the people voting on it, with the following consequences: We have seen prayer banned, farmers jailed for selling wheat, bubble zones at abortion clinics, marriage redefined by judges, the anal lifestyle legitimized, unelected "human rights"commissions censoring free speech, trade unions using compulsory union dues to finance abortion, homosexuality, radical feminists, socialism and a multitude of other causes. It makes one wonder, where has "investigative journalism" been? Oops I’m forgetting this is Loonie Land and most of the media are in trade unions. Perhaps "solidarity forever" takes precedent over exposing the misuse of their own and other peoples’ union dues. There was a bit of gossip in the media recently, it seems The Little Guy’s communications director called the President of another country a "moron." Speaking of morons, we have so many morons here that a lot of people think the "morons" in Loonie Land are running the country. Now isn’t that the truth! Anyway in honour of our Loonie Land’s "morons" I thought I would write a few sonnets or poetry if you prefer that word. It can be sung to the tune of "Beasts of England" in "Animal Farm" Oh, Morons of Loonie Land Long may you reign Madness is normal In Loonie Land’s Domain Oh, Morons of Loonie Land Ask The Little Guy to stay Tell him to get cloned And he’ll never have to go away Oh, Morons of Loonie Land Where there is "same sex marriage" Bill and Allan Have ordered a wedding carriage Oh, Morons of Loonie Land You are a breed beyond compare Where did you come from? Why didn’t you stay there? Please note I have no intention of trying to get The Poet Laureate’s job. Anyways, have a nice day and don’t forget to vote otherwise you won’t have any say-- as if you did anyway--but it sounds good to say that. I keep saying this is my last letter but Loonie Land continues to be a great source of true farce. I’ll write again soon from the Land of Loonie.
