#5 Letter from Loonie Land
by Stephen Gray

Dear All,

Hope things are going well with you. Things are getting a little bit nasty here in Loonie Land. It seems there is some bad blood in one of the Libloonies ridings. The riding association of one of The Little Guy’s cabinet minister’s was overthrown, "a hostile takeover" was how one political correspondent described it. The new riding president is reported in a newspaper as "fearing for his life." I tell you these Libloonies take no prisoners, they play for keeps. Who said The Godfather was in Denmark?

Anyway here is some more positive news. A Loonie Land newspaper said The Little Guy’s government has "froze the assets of a [Loonie Land] charity linked to attempts by Osama bin Laden to acquire nuclear and chemical weapons." That old saying "charity begins at home" has certainly taken on a new meaning in this case. What do you think?

Drugs are supposed to be illegal in Loonie Land but we give out "free needles." Now there is a push in one part of Loonie Land for "safe injection sites." Loonie Land’s Industry Minister is quoted as saying: "We need them." This is the same guy who promoted "medical marijuana" and set up a government grow operation. I think the slogan for this operation could be: "The government is going to pot." Perhaps some of them are even smoking it.

Things are still running true to form here in Loonie Land. In a major city, the Christmas tree was being referred to as a Holiday tree, but this is politically correct Loonie Land where the dingbats call the shots.  It was, however, changed back to Christmas tree after the normal people protested. Then the Royal Loonie Land Mint decided the word Christmas in the song "Twelve days of Christmas" had to be changed to the "Twelve Days of Giving."

I see Loonie Land’s Minister of Foreign Affairs -- a guy who lives up to this title very well -- has decided not to ban a terrorist organization. He has said he will not ban this organization, "in its entirety because it is involved in social and political work..." Let no one say Loonie Land does not live up to its reputation as a "tolerant" and "caring" society. Give us your terrorists, your drug pushers, your perverts and your pedophiles; Loonie Land will ensure a safe haven for them and if some are unlucky enough to go to jail we’ll even allow them to vote.

One of Loonie Land’s former Supreme Court judge’s --who recently stepped down-- has been sounding off in the newspapers.  A newspaper article said he doesn’t think prospective judges should be subjected to "mandatory review."   The article goes on to say, “he said the proof the current system works can be found in the fact he can’t think of a bad appointment... in the past 20 years." Is that self praise or what?

In other news, a Libloonie M.P. says it’s as "dumb as a bag of hammers " to ban political donations from unions and corporations. Of course some of these guys have a vested interest in the status quo. But then, this is Loonie Land, where freedom of association means forced association, and we pretend we live in a "democracy." It is some politicians who are as "dumb as a bag of hammers" and all the hammers in the bag could not bang any sense into their brainless empty heads.

The Auditor-General says "that Parliament was in the dark..." about the astronomical "costs" of Loonie Lands "$1-billion" gun registry which was supposed to cost an estimated $2-million. I would say that is an understatement.  If , "Parliament was in the dark" then who is running the country? Jesse James and his gang? Taxpayers are the victims of a daylight robbery. Is nobody going to be held accountable for this government fiasco and are we going to see a detailed accounting of where our tax dollars went? Think about it $1-Billion is: One thousand million. Our money has disapppeared and we don’t know where!!!!

Here is some more "happy" information on our tax dollars: An article in a financial paper says: "Multinationals operating in [Loonie Land] have avoided hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes over the past decade...", one "official in the Auditor-General’s office said it is closer to a billion." The article goes on to say that it is putting Loonie Land’s "tax base at risk."

If you are a sane person you have to say we cannot afford these Libloonies who are running Loonie Land. Nobody in their right mind could. But then, is there any sanity left? Do you think we have a problem? Of course we don’t, this is LOONIE LAND.

Anyway have a nice day and always be sure you vote, it keeps the "system" working and politicians encouraged.
