#7 Letter from Loonie Land by Stephen Gray Dear All, Happy New Year from Loonie Land, where it is 2003 "A.D." ...oops, I mean "common era." Some people say Loonie Land has the finest educators in the world and who would argue with that? There was a story in a national newspaper about a teacher who, "gave a step-by-step lesson on how to snort cocaine." It seems one of the children was asked at home: "What did you learn in school today?" The child replied "she learned how to snort cocaine..." Her mother is quoted in this article as saying: "My jaw just dropped to the floor." If that isn’t a "high" class teaching job then I don’t know what is. In another part of Loonie Land there was much controversy about another teacher. It seems that the last time the kids saw this teacher he was a man. But in the new year he/she is coming back to the classroom as a woman. A sex change operation was performed on this person. It seems the kids in this person’s class are bewildered. Some of the parents wish to take their children out of this class. They feel this is confusing for their children. The parents are being categorized as bigots and as being discriminatory, for Loonie Land is a "culture of diversity." The usual bevy of clacking female "sex educators" appeared on T.V. to insist that the more children learned at an early age about the transgendered, homosexuality, bisexuality and all the other sexualities could do them nothing but "good." And of course the teachers unions and Loonie Land’s civil liberties thought this kind of "diversity" was no big deal for little kids. Perhaps the parents should butt out. It makes one wonder about the mentality of these parents... don’t they know this is Loonie Land and "educators" know best? Whose kids are these anyway? The Supreme Court of Loonie Land has now decided what children should be taught. A newspaper article stated that the court, "says a school board cannot ban three children’s books depicting families with same-sex parents from the classroom." The article went on to say a homosexual teacher who "tried to introduce the books to his kindergarten and Grade 1 students..." was "thrilled" about the Supreme Court decision. The Chief Justice is quoted in another article as saying: "Tolerance is always age appropriate." So you parents out there who believe in the traditional family and teach your children your morality, go to the back of the class. Now you know what "the power of one" means. Whose children are these anyway? Some people are saying the parents should rebel, but that is absurd. We are a caring, tolerant, non-judgemental and deviant oops I mean diverse society and every lifestyle must be taught to your children. Another newspaper article stated that the Loonie Land justice minister, "will not ban possession of child pornography outright because he fears it could violate the Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantee to freedom of _expression." Translated, does this mean perverts have more protection than innocent children? Sane people in Loonie Land are wondering if perverts are a protected species. Of course not, we practice "diversity." Speaking about children, it is still open season on the child in the womb. One would have thought that with all the information out there, politicians would finally see the atrocity of abortion. But no, political correctness still holds sway. The latest example comes in a newspaper article where the leader of the opposition party in Loonie Land is quoted as saying: "My position on abortion, for example, will be that this party is not going to introduce abortion legislation....we’re not going to have a referendum on it." Well, well, well, do we have a little dictator in waiting here? Will only his view prevail? Perhaps he should tell that to the little girl in B.C. who survived an abortion and is disabled for life. This is the same guy who was opposed to election gag laws and now wants to gag people opposed to abortion in his party. Mr. Gag is possibly hoping for media approval and a few votes from radical feminists at the expense of the child in the womb. Could this be called a defence of political correctness? In other news, Loonie Land politicians continue to pander to the politically correct. It was reported in a newspaper that Loonie Land’s "Public Works Minister" apologized for using the terms "pansies" and "pantywaists" over a dispute with another country. It seems those who have that wonderful lifestyle, which can bring disease and death if practiced, found the use of the words pansies and pantywaists a "slur" and offensive. But hey, this is Loonie Land and one must grovel to the politically correct. Do none of these politicians have any backbone? I see Loonie Land’s criminals are having a wonderful time. It was reported in the media that: "A barbecue at a psychiatric jail where potentially violent inmates frolicked nude in a fountain, feasted on filet mignon and climbed trees in an open courtyard was inadequately supervised..." Could this be called a Mad Hatters Tea Party? Of course not, this is Loonie Land. Meanwhile in other political news a politician in one of Loonie Land’s provinces resigned, "when it was revealed he and his staff had spent $103,000 over a 28 month period on lavish steak dinners, hotel suites and in-room movies." Sounds like this guy was feeding an army, sleeping a multitude and was movie mad. Was he ever in the Legislature? In other news, a national newspaper said the police raided a firm with a link to the Libloonies. This firm "received more than $3-million in federal foreign aid contracts in 2001..." The article goes on to say, "Investigators stated in their sworn affidavit that" this company, "had gross revenues of $44.9-million in 2001, $36.5-million in 2000 and $32.3-million in 1999. After deducting its expenses, however, the firm paid only $70 in income tax for the three years combined,..." If you add the three totals this comes to $113.7-million, it makes one wonder why they even paid the lousy $70 dollars. Perhaps they wanted to show they were a good corporate citizen!!! Anyway, the company’s accountant should be nominated for the Order of Loonie Land: that is quite a financial achievement. Surely this is "fiscal conservatism" at its best. All you working people out there must be pleased that while you struggle to pay your rent or mortgage, try and raise your kids decently, and pay your taxes, that this firm only paid $70 dollars in taxes. But this is Loonie Land and what you see is what you get. Just look at your great political choices: Libloonie (L), Progressive Cons (PC), New Deviations Party (NDP) and now Callous Allies (CA). Anyway don’t forget to vote when the time comes; "democracy" demands this of you. Even though the parties all have different names, they are politically correct and that’s what counts in Loonie Land. Most of the politicians come out of the same barrel, so it doesn’t really matter who has the power they just need your encouragement. Don’t even think of rebelling. Remember this is Loonie Land, the home of peace, order and "good government."
