Lying about the Charter

By Stephen Gray

"(This) is about the Charter of Rights," Prime Minister Paul Martin said earlier Tuesday. “We are a nation of minorities. And in a nation of minorities, it is important that you don't cherry-pick rights. A right is a right and that is what this vote tonight is all about.”

The above quote by prime minister Paul Martin on his governments Bill C-38 on so-called “same-sex marriage” shows the depths of deceit this Liberal government will go to impose a “right” that was never in the Charter. The prime minister says we are “a nation of minorities.” I thought we were a nation of CANADIANS. But the prime minister uses the word “minorities” to curry favor and disguise the assault on decency and morality that is being imposed by his government. After all, who would dare criticize a “minority” when they would be subject to the usual attacks from those with a politically correct agenda? This, then, is the dirty strategy of those who want to impose their will on the country. Call their aberration “minority rights.” In a democratic society there should be no minorities only CANADIANS who have equal rights, not special rights created by an invention of words called, “same-sex marriage.”

This is the state of our land today, create special privileges for so called “minorities” and to heck with the rights of the majority of CANADIANS. But, “you don’t cherry pick rights” says our democratically challenged prime minister, yet he is doing just that by picking this rotten fruit from the Charter’s imaginary “living tree” and force feeding it to the country under the banner of a “right” that never was.

“Sexual orientation/gay rights is not in the Charter. Attempts to place it in the Charter were rejected by those who framed the Charter. Sexual orientation was not in the 1987 Meech Lake Accord nor the 1992 Charlottetown Accord. The idea of constitutionally enforceable gay rights is judge-made law from start to finish.” (Ted Morton, Winnipeg Free Press, July 3, 2003. “Gay Marriage and the decline of democracy in Canada”)

As can be seen by the above quote, this figment of judicial and political imagination called “same-sex marriage” was never in the Charter. This deformation of law was imposed on society by non-elected judges and brought to fruition by unscrupulous politicians who passed it into so-called “law.” What we are witnessing in this country is the attempt to give credence to a sexual and abnormal same sex attraction of a noisy minority by calling it “marriage.” The power of the corrupted state is being used to do this. And the people of the country are refused a voice on this matter and are made to accept this imposition under the guise of Charter “rights.” What we are really seeing is the perversion of politics, law and justice by the Liberals.

“The Liberals said Harper has only one tool at his disposal: the Charter's notwithstanding clause, an escape hatch which no federal government has ever used.”

"They're going to have to at least be honest with the people," said Justice Minister Irwin Cotler. "They're going to have to acknowledge that they want to override the (Charter of Rights), override constitutional-law decisions in nine jurisdictions in this country, override a unanimous decision of the Supreme Court of Canada, override the rule of law in this country."

When one reads the quote above by the “justice minister,” one wonders why he did not choke on his own hypocrisy when he uttered the words, “be honest with the people.” This is a Liberal government where hundreds of millions of taxpayers dollars went missing and the “justice minister” has the cheek to talk about “honesty!!” This is a Liberal government who voted a few years ago to uphold the traditional definition of marriage and has now turned their own votes into a BIG LIE by now voting against traditional marriage. Pardon me while I laugh out loud at our so called “justice minister.” Yet, he criticizes the Conservative party for not being “honest ” because they are opposed to this nonsense called “same-sex marriage.” It is he, the “justice minister” who is not being honest. He, like the prime minister, knows this unnatural “right” was never in the Charter, yet he continues to babble on about it being “constitutional law.” What a sad spectacle is our “justice minister” that he has to resort to undermining the “the rule of law in this country” by claiming an aberration is the “law.” He could be straight out of Alice in Wonderland: The law is whatever he, the prime minister, political flunkeys and the liberal appointed judges says it is. In fact a thinking person might say they are committing a hate crime against decency and democracy and are not interested on the repercussions from this state imposed perversion on our country.

But this is the state our country is in today. Where under the guise of “minority rights” the majority are dictated to by unscrupulous politicians and judges. Where the law is perverted by hallucinating judges “reading in” rights. Where justice is gerrymandered and twisted to suit a special interest group and politics has become a dirty game which includes lying about the Charter.
