We need a Referendum on “same-sex marriage”
By Stephen Gray

“Sexual orientation/gay rights is not in the Charter. Attempts to place it in the Charter were rejected by those who framed the Charter. Sexual orientation was not in the 1987 Meech Lake Accord nor the 1992 Charlottetown Accord. The idea of constitutionally enforceable gay rights is judge-made law from start to finish.” (Ted Morton, Winnipeg Free Press, July 3, 2003. “Gay Marriage and the decline of democracy in Canada”)

The imposition of so called “same-sex marriage” has been anti-democratic, a lie, and appears to be a perversion of politics, law and justice. It has been done without the input of ALL the people of Canada. One might say it smacks of an “open conspiracy.”

An editorial in the National Post of March 1, 2000, headlined “An open conspiracy” had a sub - headline saying “Justice Minister too close with gay lobby on same-sex marriages.” The Justice Minister at that time was Anne McLellan.

The editorial went on to say:
“Yesterday a committee of Parliament met to discuss Bill C-23, the Liberal proposal to give marriage like benefits to homosexual couples. This is not a radical proposal for same-sex marriages - that has already happened, on April 23, 1998, to be precise, when Rosalie Abella, an appeals court judge from Ontario, decided to change the legal definition of ‘spouse’ so that it might describe one of two homosexuals living together.”
Judge Abella was rewarded by the Liberal government for her word changing contortions and now sits on the Supreme Court of Canada, where no doubt she will continue to bring down “landmark decisions” for many years to come.

The editorial further stated: “This open conspiracy involving the courts, the Justice Department and the gay lobby is no figment of conservative paranoia: It is demonstrated for all to see in a confidential briefing note prepared for Anne McLellan, the Justice Minister. The note, written the day of the 1998 decision, acknowledges that Ms. McLellan had ‘already agreed with EGALE to consult them before deciding whether or not to seek leave [to appeal].’ Since EGALE was one of the gay lobby groups suing the government in the first place to allow them to influence the government’s legal strategy was a shameless conflict of interest….EGALE simply told the minister what to do, and she did it.”

Note: EGALE is Equality for Gay and Lesbians Everywhere and receives funding under the Court Challenges Program.

The editorial went on to say about Justice Minister Ms. McLellan:
“Her secretive collusion with EGALE - with whom she pretends to have an adversarial relationship in court - raises more than just political questions; it raises questions of ministerial ethics as well.”

There has been no ethics displayed over this nonsense of “same-sex marriage.” It has been a huge lie from start to finish. This deformation of law was imposed on society by non-elected judges and brought to fruition by unscrupulous politicians who passed it into so-called “law.” ( Note: The Bloc a party that wants separation from Canada helped pass this aberration into “law.” And so the farce was perpetrated.) The power of the corrupted state was used to do this. Parliament was subverted, the law was subverted and the courts perverted. The people of the country were refused a voice on this matter by former Prime Minister Paul Martin and were made to accept this imposition under the guise of Charter “rights.” Sensible, sane and thinking people know this abomination was NEVER in the Charter. So what can be done? First of all this so-called “free vote” on “same-sex marriage” will not solve this matter. It will be a vote on a lie and even if it passed - which is unlikely - the non-elected Liberal majority in the Senate have final say. The issue could also go to the non-elected judiciary at the Supreme Court where no doubt “reading in” would be or could be used to subvert sanity and decency.

Since Parliament, the courts, the media, and the politicians cannot be trusted to do the right thing and have allowed this LIE to become their truth the only hope is a referendum by ALL the people of Canada. The people must be allowed to have their say on this important matter. It must not be left to politicians of all political stripes or hallucinating judges to decide what is normal or decent for the country. We need a Referendum.
