Please tell other homeschoolers about our activities and share this newsletter.  We usually meet in the Leitchfield City Park on Thursdays between 1 and 3 p.m., but sometimes have special events at that time as well.  Call or email when in doubt of the schedule and check the website often. If you can't make a meeting, let us know and we'll make sure you don't miss out on any information! Use the group email or call Anne & Alex at 270-242-0868.

Successful Easter Egg Hunt:
The Easter Egg Hunt was a success!  Sixteen youth attended and thirteen hunted for eggs.  The age range was very wide and we were able to separate the students by age group for better hunting.  Although the weather was very cool, there was no rain and we survived.   Thanks to everyone who participated, and thanks to Alvina for the idea.

New Members:
We have several new members, and our list is up to 22 families.  Please make sure you have an updated list by coming to a meeting.  Call and request an updated list from Anne or Alex before the meeting.

Organization:
We have many, many opportunities with a group this size and greater need for organization than ever before.  New ideas are brought up at each gathering.  Some important needs upcoming include our yearbook and graduation recognition.  Students have worked all year to achieve their goals.  These achievements should be recognized with certificates, yearbooks, and a celebration of moving on to greater things.  Some of us work by grade level, others by general levels of achievement in different subjects, still others by life skills.  All styles have reason for recognition.  We need a committee of two to three people (or more) to organize each event: Yearbook and Graduation.  Please volunteer.

Book Clubs:
Our newest member suggested that we join the Scholastic book clubs for opportunities to order less expensive books for our students.  These catalogs/order forms should be available within two weeks and will be provided at regular weekly meetings.  We need someone to take charge of collecting all orders for our group.  We can earn rewards for participation and the program is one of the best ways to keep books coming for each student.  We may want to begin a monthly book club based on choices from these catalogs.
