My wife Nancy and I had planned to drive to Bredenbury on the December 16th weekend to see the lights and to see my hometown. Unfortunately, the blizzard that weekend forced us to stay close to Regina. I was really disappointed. There are certain times every year that memories of my hometown preoccupy my thoughts. Christmas is one of those times. Bredenbury is a great town with wonderful people. I'm proud to call it home.

It's nice to see bredenbury on the map of the internet. I used to visit all the time when i was a kid. My mom grew up here and my aunt just moved back. My mom is Daisy Potter (Louttit) and my aunt that just moved back is Shirley Kirkwood and another aunt uncle that live there are Gwen & Alvin Hanson. My daughter and I were able to get "home" to Bredenbury for the first time to see "The Bredenbury Lights" last December. We were amazed at what transformation took place when the lights came on at night. It was beautiful!! We took our time driving aroun and then went back to take pictures of our favorites to show the rest of the family. When I came back to Winnipeg, I ran into a former co-worker and she was talking about a small town that they had been to in Saskatchewan for the Girls Hockey Provincials She was telling everyone what a beautiful little town it was - the people were wonderful and friendly - and you should see the way they decorate for Christmas. I quickly informed her that that was my home town. Way to go Bredenbury. You have done yourselves proud!!....S. Falkenberg(Simpson). Winnipeg, MB.

found your site when i was looking for information on Charles Vincent Ashby and family. Grandfather worked in the round house (I believe)and my father L. Fred(erick)was born there. They lived on a farm just east of the hwy (on the way to Yorkton) Dad play d hockey on the local team -better known as "Dink". I was born in Churchbridge and as a youngest was known to hitch a ride on the "gigger" to visit grandpa. Your web page is incredable. Dad would of loved it.

I am the grandchild of Glenn and Peggy Cowan and I am very proud of the accomplishments they have achieved over the years. I am very proud of the contributions to the community they have provided as well. I am proud to have come from the roots of this f ne hamlet. I have been to Bredenbury numerous times while growing up and no place gives me a feeling of home more than Bredenbury. It is a wonderful place, almost mystical in some ways like the plains of Scotland. It has an aura around it almost like a biodome that no one can penetrate or touch with its destructive forces, which is what the rest of the world has allowed to happen. I would like to have information regarding my relatives who all homesteaded in Bredenbury. They were the James Shearer family from the Orkney Islands in 1888. Lenore Bennet, the former Postmistress is also a relative. Peter Shearer, hhis son, was my father. John Shearer was very active on the Board of the Cut Arm Schholl, Board of Stewards of the United Church. Also Sec. of the local Sask.Wheat Pool Commiette. United Grain Growers.
