2/23/05: San Antonio Rampage @ Hartford Wolfpack

9:35 AM: Well, I'm on the train into the city, and you'd think I'd be a lot more excited about this one than I am.  For starters, I've been really sick for the past week, and I haven't done much over that time period other than relaxing.  Then, it would appear as though I'll be stuck in Hartford for a few hours.  And, of course, stuck in the city for a few hours.

Regardless, this will be fun.  Getting an opportunity to cover many of the players I've seen skate on Garden Ice should be cool, as will going to a place I've never been and walking in the same locker room Gordie Howe once stood in.  This couldn't possibly suck, could it?

12:00 PM: I've been on the bus to Hartford for a little while now.  They're showing a John Travolta movie right now, which not only makes me sad, but also makes me question my faith in the public transportation system yet again.

Around 2:45 PM: In Hartford, yay.  At McDonalds.  Again, yay.

3:15 PM: OK, so I'm in something called Cityplace, and I don't have any idea what it is.  It seems like it's half mall, half office building...suffice it to say, I'm a bit miffed over the whole thing.  It is, however, clean and warm, and where I'll be waiting until I pick up my press pass at 5.

4:35 PM: Sitting in the Dunkin Donuts across from the Hartford Civic Center.  About a half an hour away from getting this show on the road.  This hot chocolate better be good.

1:15 AM: Will likely be stuck in either New York City or Newark until 6.  Not cool.  Anyway, the game was good, Hartford won 3-1.  I got to see LaBarbera play, and Lundmark scored two goals.  After the game, I went down and did the coach's press conference.  Then, I talked to Jason LaBarbera, Steve Valiquette, Jeff MacMillan, Jozef Balej and Garth Murray.  Not bad, I definitely want to go back!

2:05 AM: OK, so I'm stuck in Newark for four and a half hours.  I don't think the full scope of how much this sucks has hit me yet, but I think the unforgiving floors of Newark Penn Station will take care of that.  Yes, this sucks.
