After the battle of Armageddon, the casting of the demons into hell, and the building of the Millennium temple, Jesus:
“will judge between the
nations, and will render decisions for many peoples; And they will hammer their
swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against
nation, And never again will they learn war.” (Isaiah 2:4 NASB)
Here is a mystery: The nations have an eternal calling, just as the church. Why? Because a true nation possesses a scepter, a land, a crown, and a throne. The throne constitutes a seat of justice, ordained and blessed by God. All nations that possess a throne are truly blessed. Israel possesses the first and highest throne among the nations. The son of David sits on the throne. Jerusalem will be the city where the nations of the world will go for final decisions on justice.
The nations will also go to Jerusalem for training in justice, which is training in righteousness, which is also training in holiness. Which is training in innocence and purity. Which is also training in the ways of little children. Which is also training in the true nature of kinsman relationships, which is training in the true nature of the nations; and in the true nature of the church, and training in the full methods and spirit of redemption.
Here is a riddle: In Great Babylon there was much training in law, but there was no training in justice. This is how she betrayed God. This is why she became so wicked. Her doctrine of justice was a false doctrine.
What does this mean? The training of the priests in Great Babylon was believed to be a secular process. They called their scribes, lawyers. Their priests they called judges. They even believed it was wrong to consider God in their ways. Even worse, legal training in Great Babylon, was in law, but none of the training was in justice. The colleges were all colleges of law, not colleges of justice.
In Great Babylon, the lawyers union made sure no colleges of justice were ever built. But in a just society, lawyers are trained in on set of institutions, and judges are trained in a different, and even more important, set of institutions. The professions are different, and lawyers do not become judges. It is against the law for a lawyer to become a judge or an elected representative.
The Lord has a simple and fail-safe way to determine if a nation has left Him. He goes to the courts of the land, and watches and listens. Are they judging by righteousness, or by some doctrine of deception, such as human rights? Wickedness will multiply when any doctrine besides righteousness is used, no matter how noble it may sound. Righteous is the only principle of justice that is rooted in holiness.
How do you know when wickedness is multiplying? Do the judges and lawyers ever use the court to justify evil actions? Evil actions constitute anything that is not done in the spirit of purity and innocence. The spirit of true innocence is the innocence that is found in little children. How can you create pornography in a spirit of true innocence? The answer is that you cannot. How can a nation be a merchant of weapons in a spirit of true innocence? The answer is that it cannot. The list of justified wickedness can be endless.
Satan will not be able to deceive the nations except for a brief period at the end of the millennium. Then he will be cast into hell, from where he can never escape. Satan’s doctrines of secularism, and individualism, and collectivism, and naturalism, and human rights, and the separation of church and state, and justified war, and many more, will all be seen for what they are and cast down by the nations, and forgotten. The day is very near. And His Kingdom is coming. And His will—which is His ways—will be done on earth, as in Heaven. And justice will reign.
There is one great and true entitlement all people should expect from the nations. It is justice. Justice is the reason of state. Justice should be free, so there will be equal access for all, and the rich will not be able to ‘buy’ and distort justice. Justice should be swift. Remember that the Lord provides pre-paid legal services for all and for always. It will be inquisitorial, and not adversarial.
In the world today, the hope of justice is overwhelmed by other demands on the government. When governments take on other roles than the doing of justice, no matter how noble and needed those roles may be, justice is unconsciously placed to the side and, in effect, becomes secondary.
When these things happen the ministers of the government must wear other hats. They expend their energies in fulfillment of the other interests, which can become myriad. The courts are then neglected, and under funded, and not refined, and grind to a near halt.
The true nature of the court is not winnowed out. The true nature of justice is never pursued, and false doctrines multiply. Injustice is assured when this happens. Government is a ministry that must wear one hat.
But how can a government be just if it does not protect the widow and the orphan? Or the feeble in mind, and the sick, and the handicapped? Social safety nets are a necessity, for herein is true justice.
Here is a mystery: The nation and the church are different, yet one in the same.
How can this be? Here is how and why the church and the nation both have eternal ministries. The answer is that the church is the ministry that wears the other hats. The church is the social safety net. It is simply a division of responsibility in the spirit realm.
Here is a mystery: In eternity there will be no sickness, and no sin in the New Heaven, but we will still need justice.
How can this be? Here is the answer. We assume that justice is for judging wrongdoers, which is true. But that is only one temporary dimension of justice. Justice is needed for both criminal and civil issues. There will be no need for criminal justice in the New Heaven, but there will always be a need for resolving civil issues.
Now you are ready to ask one of the most important questions of your life. Everyone in the kingdom needs to know the answer. Here is the question: What is justice?
Here is the answer: Justice is the right managing of relationships. It is the spirit by which all relationships will always be managed for all time. The concern of justice is the concern for right living. To live justly is to live by the spirit of innocence. True innocence is rooted in holiness. Holiness is purity. Pure innocence is the true spirit of justice. You know you have this spirit when you are transparent in all your ways, hiding nothing. Not pushing others out of your life. Not being secretive. It is the spirit that is the opposite of the spirit of Satan.
Justice and justification are one in the same. They are both created in righteousness, and this is the only means by which they can be truly created. This is why secularism is such an evil lie, and is actually witchcraft. It teaches that social relationships are to be created and managed without reference to spiritual principle.
The secularist teaches that church and state must be separate institutions. The end result is that the secularist believes and teaches that it is wrong for the courts to consider righteousness in their ruling. This abandonment of righteousness is the fork in the road at which governments either take the high road to righteousness or the low road to wickedness.
From the time of the millennium and throughout eternity, all the nations will be purified by the one true doctrine of justice, which is righteousness. And they will be healed. Isaiah reported this testimony from the Lord:
For a child will be born to
us, a son will be given to us. And the
government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful,
Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, the Prince of Peace.
There will be no end to the increase of His
government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To
establish it and uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this. (Is. 9)
The government must rest on His shoulders, because He is the only One who is assured to always be true, and faithful, and holy, from which all else is derived, including justice. He is the only worthy one.
This means that the Lord is the only One who is worthy of being the high standard bearer. The Lord is the One in whom I will trust. The Lord is the only one in whom I will trust. This is because the One in whom I trust, must be trustworthy now and forever; or sure disaster is down the road. Will you put your trust in Him too? Yes Lord, I believe that you are the only trustworthy one in all heaven and earth.
