Adventures with GMAS
Migration Sensation
Shreve, Ohio
March 25, 2006
It started as a frosty morning, but the crowds were  warmly greeted into the vendor's hall of the Shreve Elementary School.   The GMAS booth displayed lots of educational information along with her sister societies, The Ohio Ornithological Society and The Bluebird Society.   Our members were found actively working at each of these booths.  Pam Jordan welcomed people to our booth, as Mary Ellen Bolt tended table for the bluebirders.   Other GMAS members, participating in the field were Su Snyder, Gary Cowell, Roger Troutman, Dick Stoffer and Tim Leslie.  The afternoon programs, held in a large multipurpose room, were packed for presentations on "Woodpeckers,"  by Jim McCormac and "Barn Owls,"  by Tom Henry.  Larry Rosche also gave an informative program on "Dragonflies and Damselflies."

The eagle viewing area was very popular.  Tom Henry (DOW) and Tim Leslie (blue hat) helped  people spot the nest with scopes.

Birder's etiquette tip:   Even if you are an old Captain and Tennile fan, please refrain from singing "Muskrat Love" while birding with others.
