Western Cuyahoga and Greater Mohican Audubon Societies joint trip to The Wilds
Two great Audubon Societies met in the parking lot of The Wilds 1-21-06, and the trip was led by Su Snyder.  The temperatures were in the 40's, seasonably warm for January, although the wind was screaming across the open vistas of  this grassland reclaimed from strip-mining.
The first stop was Jeffery Point, where rumor had it that 2 Golden Eagles had been spotted earlier in the day.  No eagles were to be had at this time, although nice views of Harriers and Rough-legged hawks were seen from the viewing platform.  The platform and signage, recently build by
ODNR and dedicated at an OOS symposium, provided a welcome shelter from the wind!
