Fushigi Yuugi is a story about a 15-year-old girl called Miaka, who visits the National Library one day with her best friend, Yui... and, basically, they get sucked into a book. Well, it's not as simple as that (duh ^^;;), but it's much too twisted and complex to explain in a very, very short intro...
Let's just say that... Miaka discovers she is the Suzaku no Miko, and to summon the god, Suzaku, she needs to find her seven Seishi... on the other hand, Yui becomes the Seiryuu no Miko, who is meant to be the enemy of the Suzaku no Miko. (Confused yet? ^^;;) So... while inside the Shijin-Tenchisho, Miaka gets into trouble non-stop, her super-cool Seishi rescue her non-stop, and she miraculously survives the many attempts on her life (that's about it, in a nutshell...).
Out of all the animes that I have ever seen, Fushigi Yuugi is one of the best, and still my favourite (even though it's been several years since I first saw it). It's a combination of everything - comedy, romance, action, and drama. If you haven't already seen it, all I can say is... what are you waiting for...?! |
