Chichiri has a really tragic past (which just makes you wanna give him a big hug and kiss to make it all better... ^^;;). His fiancee died in a flood that attacked their village after telling Chichiri that she couldn't marry him, because she kissed his best friend, Hikou (the two-timing b**ch... *narrowed eyes*). Then Hikou died in the same flood; Chichiri couldn't hang on to Hikou's hand because a log struck him in the eye (that's where he got the scar) and he let go in his pain. After all that, he spent three years training at Taiitsi-kun's mountain, which is why he's so good at... well, everything. ^^;;
He's probably my most favourite character in the series (or maybe even my most favourite character ever). Although he always appears happy-go-lucky and friendly, that's really just a mask (literally ^^;;) that covers his real thoughts and feelings. I think I like him at the beginning for the comic relief that he provides, as well as the whole "Aww... he's soooo cute!" factor. However, towards the end of the anime, he takes off his mask more often, and his serious nature begins to show through, and I like this part of him too... in fact, I like every part of him... ^_^ |
