The Brenda Interview

We caught up with Brenda on her way to yet another meeting – can life possibly get any more exciting!

It turns out that Brenda is a Capricorn. She has brown eyes and in her own words is vertically challenged. In the shade, with one eye closed, you could almost think she was six feet tall… well, ok, maybe 5’10" … at a pinch.

At this particular moment in time she thinks the song that best describes her personality is ‘I’m on the Top of the World’ by The Carpenters. Take what you want from that. Her favourite phrase is ‘lovely jubbly’.

Brenda has two sons and a cat. Her eldest is at
Lynfield College and her youngest at our very own
Intermediate. Her cat doesn’t go to school at all.
His name is Catty (how original) and is a pedigree
moggie who was rescued from the SPCA three
years ago.

Brenda’s favourite food is chocolate! She also
fancies pasta and rice dishes – likes her
carbohydrates, doesn’t like meat or anything with
eyeballs or feelers. An interesting fact is she
never finishes a meal. She also loves hot
chocolate (although this is possibly a bit of an
understatement), especially with marshmallows or chocolate fish.

You can see Brenda driving around in a reconstituted Porsche called a Toyota Corolla. It has two dents and a hubcap
that is now living up north somewhere. Apparently the car is a maroon colour but with all that dirt we shall have to take
her word for it.

Brenda’s first job was babysitting as a teenybopper. She graduated to working in Woolworths up north. Her first teaching job was at Glen Avon so she hasn’t moved very far in all that time. She wasn’t able to give a highlight in her teaching career, she just loves teaching kids which begs the question, ‘ Why is she now a principal…?’

A talented sportswoman, Brenda has represented her zone in hockey, athletics, netball, volleyball and table tennis. Is there no end to her talents?! Oh, and she is a dab hand on the pool table too!

Brenda loves going out and socialising with friends. (Up to you what you take from that one!) She likes watching a good movie and reading a good book. It was hard for her to pin down her favourite movie but she did like The Matrix. She also reads a book a week.

On the fashion front, Brenda will wear any colour provided it’s black. However, she has been known to throw caution to the wind with a couple of grey items in her ensemble.

Thank you Brenda
