A new addition.

Cherrie.

Going into the local pet shop is always hazardous with so many lovely birds and small domestic animals to pet and drool over. I was being restrained, (not literally), when Cherrie was brought in and dumped, without ceremony, on the bench. “She’s too playful; I can’t keep her . . . she might break ALL my antiques! I never knew a kitten played so much!!”

How could I leave her there? The owner of the shop was not happy to take her, with no knowledge of her background. It was a difficult situation that needed to be remedied there and then! My heart was hers! She came home and has become a loved part of the family. At first I was concerned about how the older cats would adapt and with good cause.

Willow stayed out and chilled her rheumatic legs so badly that I was really worried for her well-being. But with encouragement and gentle persuasion, she has now accepted her little sister and can be found washing her and sleeping near her.

Heath normally chases cats he doesn’t know, so I was also concerned as to how he would react to the newcomer. I shouldn’t have worried. He adores her and has never tried to do anything other than play! She loves getting into spots where she has the advantage and assaulting him whenever he goes near!

They will soon be able to play outside – that’s when all the fun and games will start. I will have to watch out for more ‘photo opportunities’! Meanwhile she continues to explore her new home and wrap anyone she meets around that cute little paw of her’s!
