GREENON WRESTLING TEAM RECEIVES AWARDS.....SEE PHOTOS BELOW......

The Greenon High School Program concluded another successful season the same way as last year - by taking two wrestler’s to the Division II State Wrestling Tournament held in Columbus, Ohio. Greenon’s Sean Christensen qualified for the State Tournament for the second consecutive season and Chris Wolf qualified for the first time this season. Although neither wrestler placed at the State Tournament, it is believed that this is the first time in school history that the wrestling team qualified wrestlers for the state tournament in consecutive seasons. The team celebrated the conclusion of their season last week at the Greenon Awards Ceremony. The Achievements of the wrestling team were considerable as Greenon qualified Two Wrestlers for the State Tournament, Four Wrestlers for the District Tournament, had Three Wrestlers Named to the All County Squad, and had Three Wrestlers with 30 Wins.

In addition to the above, Greenon Wrestling Coach Chuck Dooley was named as the County Area Coach of the Year. Coach Dooley, who just finished his second season as the Greenon Coach, previously coached for one year at Kenton Ridge High School. Coach Dooley’s impact on the Greenon Wrestling program has been immediate. Prior to his arrival, Greenon had not sent a wrestler to the State Tournament in almost two decades; under Coach Dooley’s tenure, the Greenon Squad has been able to qualify four wrestlers for the Division II State Wrestling Tournament in just two seasons. The Greenon team also had a winning season this year as they went 4-3 in their duel meets, finished 4th in the CBC League Meet, and finished a very respectable 18th in the Division II District Tournament.

Individual Achievements for the Wrestling Team were also announced at the awards Ceremony:
