A Little History . . .

It is easier to gain an understanding of family history, if one is willing to learn something about the world as it was before this century. The history of the settling of the United States, of wars, and even details about everyday life as it was lived in the past by our ancestors, adds not only to our understanding but to our respect for the struggles they had and the barriers they overcame.

I see this as a page that will grow over time as individuals add information. Please remember that it is new and under construction. At this writing, a few of the links below will take you to information! Please feel free to submit links or information. Also, I would be happy to put up photos, toward creating a photos page.

I would like to invite everyone to suspend for a time the natural tendency to look at the past through twientieth century eyes. Doing so does not give an accurate picture. Try to see life through the eyes of your ancestors, colored not by our biases, but by the morality and customs that they knew.
