IMPORTANT Green Valley Community Club Meeting:
Was held Wednesday, March 10th at 7:00 PM
Attended by at least 40 people, the meeting was called to order to discuss the current status of the Green Valley Community Club, it's status and what is needed to revive a 50 year old institution of Green Valley.
Among items presented in the meeting were factors leading up to the present state and solutions to keep the Community Club open.
Lack of members, low attendance at Community Club events and lack of overall participation resulting in cost over-runs were among factors leading to the current situation.
Bob Berry, a past President of the Community Club with 7 years of Community Club service was re-elected along with an entirely new Community Club Governing Board.
Mary Ann Miller was elected 1st VP - Craig Robertson was elected 2nd VP, the Recording Secretary position was filled by Shelly, Treasurer position went to Cheryl Lepisto, Robin Casey was elected Membership Secretary and Kenny Drew was elected to Maintenance lead of the Community Club as well.
Bob outlined other important items such as: The lease of the the Community Center with the Forestry Department being due and with current the budget unable to meet needed upgrades to meet the requirements of the lease.
The Community Club's retiring President, Chief along with CC VP Tyler were warmly thanked for their efforts in running the Club for the past year and outlined some of the factors mentioned earlier that despite their best efforts, demanded more community involvement.
Members of the Green Valley Town Council were present to also offer assistance needed by the Club in whatever capacity needed.
Several events are being planned to turn things around beginning with pledges by many in attendance to participate and support upcoming events.
Marketing of events and the cost were factors cited by past Prez Chief as reasons for low turn-out at Club events and The Green Valley Reporter will set aside a Free ad page in the print and online editions to promote Community Club events.
