Ambrose Reeves
Scholarship

The sons of Ambrose and Jane Reeves and their families established a scholarship foundation in 1991 to reward excellence in skill and academics in the Automotive Technologies program at Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.

A scholarship has been awarded each year since 1993.  That year marked the 100th anniversary of the birth of John Ambrose Reeves.  Ambrose and Jane were the parents of ten sons many of which followed their father into the automotive business.  The collection of funds grew from a family genealogy project that resulted in a book presented to all descendant families in 1991.  After initial collections at family reunions the family published a cookbook to aid in raising funds.

The family continues to raise funds to support the scholarship and the Automotive Technologies program at Wilkes Community College.  The following individuals have been recipients of the Ambrose Reeves Memorial Scholarship:
     Monty S. Turner
     Gregory S. Cox
     Bradley A. Lovette
     Timothy C. Royal
     Michael R. Childress
     Donald E. Spangler III.

Grandpa Reeves used this "bus" to transport community friends to work in town.  Grandpa worked at Yadkin Valley Motor Company in North Wilkesboro.
