I spent my earily years uneventfully in the safety of the Harbours of my father, under his protection and care. I was close to my brother Celeb, playing in the ocean, both swimming and sailing. But he would often go off to sea or abroad on land on official dutiesfor our father or Good King Gil-galad. I often did not see him for years at a time. I spent my days, my centuries, infact, along the shores of Lindon, in the shadow of Ered Luin. Soon after the war which ended the age, a desire to see new places grew in my heart, as I invisioned what they might look like in my mind's eye. Rather than looking towards Arda, as my father would have prefered, I looked East. My father was always gentle and kind, if not overprotective, and when I had made my desires known to him, he let me go... but only to Imladris. I soon rode out with a company of trusted elves to Imladris where Lord Elrond awaited my arrival. After a short time I realised my days in Rivendell were not unlike my days at the Grey Havens, just in different scenery. I spoke to my new friends of my feeling idle and useless. They suggested I go the the great librarys, and read the papers, scolls, and books. There I met Glingal, a chief historian. He taught me a few languages, and how to record history as it happened (without actually having to be there) for future generations. I myself became a historian, and a preserver of ancient texts, and workd along side Glingal for many years. We once even made a journey to Gondor to read their texts. In the librarys of Rivendell, I often remarked upon a dark haired elf, whom I later learned was Parmaitë, a Noldor. Over time we got to know one another very well, and over our common interest of texts, fell in love. I married Parmaitë in 1930 and soon had two children a son Luinmenel, and a daughter Mír Fíriel. We lived in Imladris, but we would visit my homeland of Lindon in times of peace, and stay with my father in Mithlond, or my brother and his Lady Lasgalen in their Great Hall of Pearls and Shells. After the War of the Ring, Parmaitë, Luinmenel, Mír Fíriel and I stayed in Middle-earth, Glingal, my husband, and I recording every aspect of the war with the Dark Lord. Working now for Elronds sons. In the year 357, Parmaitë, Mír Fíriel, and I crossed over the sea. Our son followed after the deaths of his masters, Lords Elladan and Elrohir whom took over Imladris with their father's departure West-Over-Sea. |
