on The Hunt For Jake Grey...
The turbolift door opens, and out steps Greymoran, chatting with another man. He looks familiar. Keith thinks about it for a second...
Keith: Ohmigod! It's Bruce Willis!
David: Who?
Greymoran: Uh, Keith, this is not Bruce Willis. This is an old friend of the XDCA. His name is David Dunn.
Keith: Where have I heard that name before?
Greymoran: It doesn't really matter Keith. He'll be going back to Coruscant with the General.
Madine: Captain?
Greymoran: I can vouch for him personally General. He has some items he'd like to salvage from the XDCA building debris, and wants to grab a souvenir for his son before he goes home.
Rita: Speaking of which, sensors confirm that a New Republic ship approaches, but it's not the cruiser that sent us the reply. I'm running the recognition program and...
Rita stops in shock. She turns around, her mouth wide open.
Rita: It-it's the Millenium Falcon!
Madine and Keith in unison: The Falcon?
Rita: They're hailing us.
Greymoran: Patch it through.
Han Solo: Millenium Falcon to XDCA vessel. We intercepted your call for the cruiser, and figured you couldn't wait to get those Hutt goons off your hands. The cruiser has been delayed slightly by an emergency at Yavin IV, so Chewie and I figured we'd come pick up Madine and his boys. Permission to dock?
Greymoran: Granted! It's great to see you again Han. How long has it been? Three years?
Han: That you Greymoran? I thought you were dead!
Greymoran: Almost was. Rita, take us out of the field so the Falcon can dock with us. We'll transfer Madine, David, and the others.
Rita: Yes sir.
By Jackson Dupree, eager to meet a great hero on Tuesday, January 30, 2001 - 10:13 pm: |
Sir, permission
to greet Han Solo when he docks? It's not every day one gets to meet a
hero like him. I suspect this might be common event in the XDCA, but in
the LICC dimension, this would never have happened. You see, I have always
considered Solo an influence in my development... And Chewie is pretty
cool, too.
By Brian Webber on Tuesday, January 30, 2001 - 10:31 pm: |
Greymoran smiles.
"Sure. Go ahead.I
just hope we never run into Gandalf. You'll probably explode." Keith stops
his conversation with madine and turns to face Greymoran. "Did you say
Gandalf?"
By Ahz on Tuesday, January 30, 2001 - 11:18 pm: |
Ahz was working down in the lab. He was sitting in a standard chair, but the computer that he was working on was hardly standard.
The computer looked like a translucent floating laptop. Every now and then, Ahz would touch something in the air, and a translucent window opened up in mid-air, and displayed some graphics. At one point, he reached down through the display and picked up a glass of water.
Hmm.. this is quite
interesting.
A window popped
open.
Ah, we have guests.
The computer disappeared,
then Ahz stood up and followed suit. He appeared in the docking bay.
By Brian Webber on Tuesday, January 30, 2001 - 11:31 pm: |
FTR Ahz,
the Archangel's shuttle bay is too small for the Falcon, so the Falcon
attached it self to the hull near an airlock, and extending a docking clamp.
No docking bay per se.
By Brian Webber on Wednesday, January 31, 2001 - 01:08 am: |
Madine, his people, and their prisoners step aboard the Falcon through the airlock. Chewbacca is there to help them in. han Solo walks over to Greymoran and David. He smiles at Greymoran. "Great to see you ol' pal. We were pretty sure you were dead. Luke was the only one who held out hope. That'll teach me not to trust his instinct. You'd think I'd have learned by now." Greymoran laughed. "Yeah, you think you would. Han, this is a clone of my son. We call him Jackson. He's been looking forward to meeting you.
*Note to Jon Wade:
Allright, it's all yours. Live out your fantasy. I'll just sit back and
watch.*
By Jackson Dupree, happy to meet a hero on Wednesday, January 31, 2001 - 08:21 am: |
Greetings, Mr. Solo. As Greymoran said, I am a clone of his son, who is a captain of a ship in another dimension. It's an honor to meet you. So where and how is Luke these days? Hi Chewbacca.
Note: Just adding
some new dimensions to Dupree's character.. I figure that he has to have
heros and mentors, and Han Solo just seemed like a natural choice
By Ahz on Wednesday, January 31, 2001 - 09:48 pm: |
Ahz
walks up to Chewie and begins a conversation in the Wookie language. Eventually,
the two head into the Falcon, still chatting away.

Greymoran and the crew watch as the Millenium Falcon flies away. Greymoran sits in his chair. "So Keith. Did you hear anything from Madine?" Keith turns in his seat. "Yes sir. He said that Grey said something about a Level 9 encrypt. Does that have anything to do with the XDCA computer's he stole?" "Don't think so. Lord Admiral Red Hawk himself had only Level 8 acces, and he was the Head of Military Operations. If there was a Level 9, the only guy who would have access was the President of Avalon. What else did Madine say?" Keith thought about it for a moment. "Uh, yeah. He said something about a U-1, whatever that-" U-1?!?" Greymoran interupted. Keith raised his eyebrow. "Sir?" Greymoran didn't respond. He brought his hand to his forhead. "By the gods, if he finds U-1-" An alram interupts him. "What is it?" Carrie's face appears. A dimensional portal opened. Three Shi'ar cruisers are coming out at high speed, but with ST style sheilds. My guess is that Grey-" *BOOM* The ship shakes violently, knocking Greymoran and Keith out of their chairs. "What happened!" Carrie's face re-appears. "We were rammed! One of the cruisers! Good thing we had our sheilds up or that would've killed us." "Damage report!" "Sheilds down. Some debris got into one of the nacelles. If we attempt warp it might explode. Minor hull fractures, but no hull breach. Ablative armor held." Rita's voice breaks through the noise of the alarms. "Sir! The other two ships are positioning to fire!" Greymoran climbs back into his chair. "••••. Rita, take us towards the planet, maximum impulse!"
*Jon Wade: Remember
what we discussed last week? Now.*
By Jackson Dupree on Friday, February 02, 2001 - 10:36 am: |
Sir, the
sensors show that it's an ice planet of some sort.... Carrie, can you confirm
those readings?
By Brian Webber on Friday, February 02, 2001 - 06:17 pm: |
Keith: Of course it's ice! We're were at the Hoth asteroid field remember? I thought you saw the Star Wars movies!
Rita: Calm down, Kieth! I'm trying to avoid flying into a rock if you don't mind!
Carrie: Sir! The Shi'ar vessels are firing!
Without sheilds, the laser blasts from the two warships slam hard into the armor of the small warship. The hull is not breached, but all the ablative aromor covering the hit areas are melted away. A second laser blast almost misses the Archangel, instead slams into to the rear torpedo launcher.
Rita: Son of a •••••! We lost rear torpedo bay!
Greymoran: Are we near the planet yet?
Rita: Yes sir. The Shi'ar are still behind us, but they've taken heavy damage from the aseroids. They're firing!
The ships buckles as the beams tear into the ship's remaining nacelle. The ship starts to spin. Rita begins firing the maneuvering thrusters with as much power as she can to stabilize the ship. One more blast opens a tear in the hull near Ahz's lab. Greymoran tries to call up the lab to see if Ahz is allright, but even if Ahz did reply, he wouldn't have been able to hear. Alarms, Rita screaming, Carrie's damge reports. Then he looks forward. He and Rita both see the planet growing larger and larger, at a fast rate. With a violent shake, and an ornage glow appearing on the screen, it becomes obvious that they have entered the atmosphere.
Rita: Full power
to thrusters. If I can stabilize us we won't burn up!
By Jackson Dupree, hoping this isnt his last mission on Friday, February 02, 2001 - 06:33 pm: |
Dupree
looks up at the viewscreen, pales, and says:
Oh Sh...
I'm going to take
all the power not currently being used and pumping it into the shields!
Dupree quickly
presses a series of buttons. All around the ship, power and other essentials
turn off on all decks not currently being used.
Sir, I think I've
found the location of the former Rebel base! If we can somehow control
our descent to land near there... I can send the coordinates to Rita. Also,
I've given you all the power I can find for the shields.
With that, Dupree
presses a button on his seat, and a seat belt wraps itself around him.
He activates all the shielding he has on his cybersuit, giving his clothes
an odd aura.
By Brian Webber on Friday, February 02, 2001 - 07:40 pm: |
Rita: Good job. We're not burning up, but I still can't stabilize us! I'll try to glide us as close to that base as we can, but it looks were gonna crash. I'll extend the ladning sturts, try to slow us down!
Keith: This is gonna ••••. *he grabs tight onto his chair. Hudzen activates magnets in his boots and stick to the floor.*
Greymoran. Brace
for impact!
By Jackson Dupree, surviving a crash on Friday, February 02, 2001 - 09:26 pm: |
The
Archangel crashes onto the surface, skips like a stone a few time, and
finally slides to a stop near the former rebel base. Unfortunatly, the
ship is now upside down and leaning on its side. Much of the ship has been
severly damaged, and debris indicates the path the ship took as as it crashed.
On the bridge, much of the former floor is now gone, revealing the open
sky. Luckily, the piece of floor Hudzen was standing on is still there,
but barely holding on. The jar of instant redshirts that Dupree brought
with him is now lying in the snow, several feet away from the ship. It
is cracked, with redshirt seeds scattered around. Even as one watches,
redshirts are springing up and instantly dying from various things.
Well, I'm attached
to my chair, but the chair is now across the bridge from where it once
was...
Is everybody else
alright? Keith? Rita? Greymoran? Carrie?
By Ahz on Friday, February 02, 2001 - 09:28 pm: |
Ahz felt a slight bump in his lab.
Hmm... I wonder what's going on outside.
He got into the elevator and rode down through three levels. Once he stepped out, he walked to a door that was standing in the middle of the room. The door looked like one of the standard doors on the Archangel, but it wasn't connected to anything. As he approached, the doors slid open into nothing, to reveal a heavily damaged corridor beyond.
Looks like we were attacked. I better make sure everyone is alright. I hope no one came looking for me.
Ahz stepped through the door into the corridor. As soon as the door closed, Ahz turned and opened the door. The standard lab beyond was a mess, with a huge hull breach in the far wall.
I sure hope no one was in there when the hull went. I had better check on the bridge.
Ahz vanished from
the corridor and materialized on the bridge
Is everyone all
right?
By Brian Webber on Friday, February 02, 2001 - 10:02 pm: |
Note to Jon Wade. Go to the website, and look at the bottom most pic of the 'Angel. If the floor of the bridge WERE tron up that bad, the whole bottom 9/10th of the ship would be gone too, and Ahz would likely be dead. Let's try this.
-
The ship is on it's
side. keith and Greymoran are up against Keith's console. Jackson is still
in place. Rita is holding onto her chair. Carrie's face appears on a large
circle on Hudzen's stomach. "Whew. Transfered myself to the portable unit
just in time! Is everyone OK?" Just after she says that, Ahz appears and
asks the same thing. Greymoran stnads up rubbing his right arm. "Ahz. Glad
to see your alive." Keith stands up. His head is bleeding. He stumbles
over to Rita. "You Ok, babe?" Rita tries to stand up, puts her left arm
on her console and screams in pain. Jackson runs over and scans it. "Hmm.
Fratcures. It's not broken but we'll still need to imbolize the arm." Keith
and jackson walk ERita towards the turbolift door. it won't open. Carrie
sighs. "Most of the power aboard is gone. Auxillary power generators are
working, but the connection to everything above deck 7 has been severed.
That means sickbay is out of commision too. And the rear landing strut
snapped off when we hit that mountian." Greymoran swears under his breath.
It's only a matter of time before the cold freezes Hudzen's gears, and
overtakes us, unless we get life support and temperture control back on-line.
We'll have to use the tubes to get around, but we won't be able to get
Rita down that way. We'll have to use the first aid kit. Carrie? I'm going
down to the weapons locker. There's a "watch" down there you can transfer
too. Hudzen, try to keep your gears warm. Ahz? There is an abandoned Rebel
base near by. There be some stuff we can use to affect repairs. But be
careful. There are Wampa ice Beasts out there, and they'll tear you to
shreds."
By Ahz on Friday, February 02, 2001 - 10:25 pm: |
Ok. You should be able to keep warm in my lab, and there should be some first-aid supplies down there. You look confused, so let me show you what I mean.
Ahz led the group down towards his lab, first by cutting the bridge doors open, then by struggling over the debris to his lab. When the door opened, a massive (and undamaged) lab was beyond. It was much larger than the space should have allowed.
You should be ok in here. Don't leave, because I am the only one who can open the door. If any one else tries, they will find the ship's lab, and not mine. I'll be back soon.
Ahz vanished and the doors slid out of no where to block the exit. It looked strange to have a door standing in the middle of the room.
Ahz, meanwhile, had materialized inside the old Hoth base. Whenever he found a part he thought he might be able to use, he checked it to see if it still worked, then he tossed it over his shoulder. If he was keeping the part, a hole opened up and swallowed the piece. If he didn't want it, then the hole didn't open. Then, he heard a roar.
That doesn't sound good. I hope that whatever that thing is, doesn't come over here.
About a half hour later, Ahz was ready to go. He was just about to teleport out when a huge creature burst through the wall. With a roar it attacked.
Ahz held out his hand, and a small, red, glowing ball appeared on his palm. He squeezed the ball and it formed into a long red blade. With a single swing, the creature was cut in half. Once the deed was done, the blade disappeared, and Ahz did too.
The door to Ahz's lab opened and Ahz stepped into the room. A hole opened an all the parts that Ahz collected fell onto the floor.
I'm back, and I've
brought gifts.
By Brian Webber on Saturday, February 03, 2001 - 12:40 am: |
Carrie: Let me have a look at that stuff. *Carrie scans all the equipmetn Ahz brought back.* Well, I've got good news and bad news. We can fix the ablative armor with this gear. And the life support system, at least for awhile. We still should get the Auxillary power hooked up so we can power up the thrusters which we can also fix. The bad news? We'll have to go to a ST universe to fix everything else, including the warp drive. And, there is a possibility, I have to go to engineering to confirm it, but it's possible the crash damaged the dimensional portal generator. If it's damaged, one of two things will happen. Either we simply won't be able to open a portal at all, or we will be able to open a portal, but it will be dangerously unstable, and could not only explode, but if we entered it we'd be thrown into a random universe. And NONE of AHz's gear is capable of repairing it.
Greymoran: ••••.
Allright. Here's what we do. Ahz, get out your medkit and help Keith and
Rita. Jackson, take the portable Carrie-watch with you. She can help you
check out the Dimensional Portal generator. You'll have to go outside to
check the external portions, but most of the gear is inside the hull. Hudzen,
power down. You're too bulky to fit in the tubes. The turbolifts aren't
back on line yet. Ahz, as soon as you're done with keith and Rita, I want
to talk to you about something in private.
By Jackson Dupree, getting an idea on Saturday, February 03, 2001 - 07:35 am: |
Yes sir.
Dupree slaps
on the Carrie-watch on his arm and takes a tube to where the generator
lies. It looks a bit damaged, but for the most part looks pretty good
Hmm... It seems
this area was pretty heavily shielded... good idea... scanning... some
minor damage... what do you think, Carrie?
Say Carrie, we wouldn't
happen to have the plans for an android of some sort? If we did, you could
use that in times of emergencies... and in regular times, you could stroll
around the ship and party with the crew
By Ahz on Saturday, February 03, 2001 - 12:05 pm: |
Ahz walks to a storage compartment and pulls out a small case. He walks over to Keith and Rita and patches them up.
There, that should do until we get sickbay back online. Now, you wanted to talk with me Greymoran?
The two walk over to a glass tube. Once inside, the floor rises and they travel up three levels. Once the strange elevator stops, they get out. This level is covered with various types of trees and plants.
Ok. What do you want?
By Hudzen on Saturday, February 03, 2001 - 02:27 pm: |
Actually, I have several smaller units that I can transfer my programming into although it would take several hours. One of them is and android similar to Data from the ST Universes, although I don't know if it was destroyed or not. If you guys can find it, I may be able to transfer a lot of my programming into it.
Hudzen then powers
down.
By Brian Webber on Saturday, February 03, 2001 - 06:38 pm: |
Carrie: Not a bad idea Jackson, but I've got a btter one. I happen to know the location of a hard-light hologram generator we could find. Of course we'll have to get the dimensional generator working. So far all the more important parts seem to work, but we'll have to go outside to make sure the external parts are OK. If they're broken we won't be able to open a portal. Period.
-
Greymoran: Kieth
was talking to me erlier, and Madine said something about Grey saying something
about U-1. Now I'm telling you this confidence because I don't want to
scare the crew. U-1 is, literally the FIRST universe. The one that all
other universes in the multiverse stem from. Long story short no one has
ever found U-1 in the entire time of XDCA history, but there are stories,
of one of the earliest dimensional travellers finding U-1, and returning
with the ability to control the multiverse. They say before his power caused
him to collapse in on himself, he managed to destroy thousands of universes.
And worse yet, every other version of him in the multiverses gained the
same powers. If this is true, and Jake Grey finds U-1, it could be the
end of everything we've fought for. Now like I said, don't tell the rest
of the crew. They're scared enough as it is.
By Interlude on Saturday, February 03, 2001 - 06:46 pm: |
Aboard Grey's ship, a tired Grey stumbles onto the bridge. TorGal greets him with a fearful look.
"Sigh, what is it
TorGal?" TorGal straightens up and salutes "Milord, one of the construction
robots accidentally colided with another. The two went haywire and caused
the Shi'ar duplicates to launch prematurely, and without proper orders
implanted in their A.I.s" Grey stares in shock. "WHAT?!?!" he screams,
and runs to the the shipyard where the three ships were. It is severely
damaged, with parts floating all around. "Where are they?!?" TorGal coughs
and says, "They went to their preprogammed destination of Hoth sir. In
SWU-3." Grey slams his fist into the viewscreen. "Shit. Fuck. God dammit!
I want all the construction robots that worked in the same area as the
two malfunctioned ones, and I want them melted down and added to the ship's
armor. And I want any living creatures that were working with those robots
tortured. I recomend using the retarded Mind Flayers, because they will
do it slowly." TorGal nods, and breaths a sigh of relief before heading
out the door. He turns to the fearful Vampyres at the ship's consoles.
"You. Were they any life forms aboard the ships when they took off?" The
one he pointed too nodded fearfully, shivering the whole time. He spoke
a word into his Vampyre control amulet, and the vampyre melted into green
goo. He turned to the others. "She showed too much fear. A Vampyre should
NEVER show that kind of fear. She was weak. I want you to take us to SWU-3
and smelt the ship while those lifefroms are still on it."
By Jackson Dupree on Sunday, February 04, 2001 - 09:01 am: |
Ok Carrie...
but before we do that, I want to find one of Hudzen's android units.
With that, Jackson
exits from the dimensional generator area and wanders to Hudzen's lab.
Inside, things are a mess, but there is a steel compartment along one of
the walls. Jackson opens it and discovers a few generic android bodies.
Well Carrie, we
found them... How long would it take to transfer yourself to a body? This
is going to have to do until we find a holographic generator of any sort.
Dupree removes
the Carrie-watch and places it on the body Carrie indicates.
Geeze.. I'm tired..
With that, Dupree
collapses, sound asleep as he hits the floor
By Jackson Dupree on Monday, February 05, 2001 - 08:19 am: |
Dupree
wakes up after a refreshing sleep. The first thing he sees is an android
standing over him, with, oddly enough, a worried look on its face. When
it speaks, the voice is familiar.
Carrie, is that
you?
I was just thinking...
didn't we have Radgast stored somewhere aboard ship?
By Brian Webber on Monday, February 05, 2001 - 07:12 pm: |
Carrie:
Oh dear, I'd forgotten. And the cargo bays are below decks, and those were
the most havily damaged areas. We'd better go down and check.
By Jackson Dupree on Monday, February 05, 2001 - 07:18 pm: |
Good idea.
So how do you like
the body?
Dupree and Carrie
make their way down to the cargo bay in which Radagast was stored. Much
of the exterior wall is gone, along with much of the cargo inside. Luckily,
Radagast's tube was tightly secured to the floor with heavy duty shackles
and chains, both physical and magical. It appears to be intact, but closer
inspection reveals a hairline crack in tube's face
Hmmm... would this
be a good thing or bad thing?
By Brian Webber on Monday, February 05, 2001 - 07:58 pm: |
Carrie: Definately a bad thing. Check the gauges. if the light is green, he's safely sealed and we have nothing to worry. Yellow, we'll have to work fast to fix the tude. Red, well, if it's red, you'll know before you even get a look at the light. And the body is OK. I kind of prefer the freedom of being the ship's computer.
-
Meanwhile, on the bridge, a light singalling activation of the dimensional communicator comes on.
"Greymoran. Commander Adon here. Your son is in serious trouble. Apparently a mustard jelly, a creature from your world I believe, has infected Tacoman with a curse that dribving him insane. Please provide any assistance you can."
Sadly, no one is
on the bridge to retrieve this message. A fur covered, clawed hand reaches
for the console and hits the erase message button. A growling nopise is
heard as the creature rips off one of the turbolift doors with one arm.
It's other arm is missing. It detects the scent. The scent of creatures
like the one who stole it's arm.
By Ahz on Monday, February 05, 2001 - 08:41 pm: |
Ahz was down in engineering fixing a bulkhead. He would pick up a piece of bulkhead, and then generate a small energy tool, similar to his sword, but it was only the size of a pencil. He was using it as a welding torch in his repair efforts.
Then, he stopped and his computer appeared next to him. He typed on that for a few moments, and then it vanished.
Ahz to Greymoran.
We may have an univited guest.
By Jackson Dupree on Monday, February 05, 2001 - 09:01 pm: |
Dupree
goes over to the controls for the tube and sees that the light is yellow
Ok... time to get
to work.
Dupree searches
the cargo bay and finds a calking tool and a sealing tool. He sprays the
calking along the crack and then seals the stuff together. The light slowly
turns back to green
There we go.
You know Carrie...
the body you picked kinda looks like the one Data used to make Lal, his
daughter in that one Star Trek episode...of course, if this stays permimant,
we may have to link your body to the computer systems...
By Brian Webber on Monday, February 05, 2001 - 09:37 pm: |
Carrie: Not a problem Jackson. Once the ship's main computer is up and running I'll be able to transfer with no trouble. And besides. This body is vulnerable. A hard light hologram is impossible to destroy. The draw back is, even though I may not take any damage from being hit in the head repeatedly with a wrench, I'll still feel it. Anyway, it's a good thing we got that bugger fixed when we did. I mean, he wouldv'e been weakened. Radagast's vulnerability is that his magics don't work in extreme cold such as this. In fact there's a bit of a story to that. You see-
Jackson and Carrie are distracted by a noise. A scratching coming from outside. Carrie's audible sensors determine it is the echo that make it sound closer than it is. She puts it at about 50 yards away. A safe distance, and apparently not blocking their path back to the bridge.
Carrie: Jackson,
I want to go up the bridge to see if the Auxillary Power connections have
been repaired properly. If they were, it should be nice and warm up there,
plus the communicators, standard and dimensional, should be working.
By Jackson Dupree on Tuesday, February 06, 2001 - 08:24 am: |
Mind if
I join you? I don't feel like facing whatever it is that's out there alone...
After we do that, we need to outside and inspect the dimensional generator...
By Hudzen on Tuesday, February 06, 2001 - 05:00 pm: |
Alone in a dark room, Hudzen turned himself on. His internal chronometer told him he'd been deactivated for two hour. He decided that he no longer wanted to be stuck in this body that froze. Time to find a Data. He made his way to where he stored some of his bodies. Only four had survived. His Data, his Bender, his Marvin, and his IG-88 extra emergency replacement body. He grabbed Data and headed back to his previous location. He plugged himself into Data and began transferring programs into it.
This will take a
while.
By Brian Webber on Tuesday, February 06, 2001 - 05:26 pm: |
Carrie
looks around the bridge. "Excellent!" she exclaims. The bridge is fully
operational. Lights, panels, everything. "I'll see if I can transfer myself
back in and check out the external sensors. If they work we won't have
to go outside to check out the external portions of the genera-" She stops
as she notices soemthing out of the corner of her eye. "Jackson, am I seeing
anything or does that comm panel have scratch marks on it?"
By Jackson Dupree, investigating a mystery on Tuesday, February 06, 2001 - 06:56 pm: |
Dupree
looks over at the panel
Hmm... I think it
does...
Dupree switches
his helmet to infrared mode
Odd... my infrared
sensors in my helmet show the area as still warm...
Are there any working
security cameras around here?
By Brian Webber on Tuesday, February 06, 2001 - 07:10 pm: |
Carrie: No cameras. Just internal sensors. Auxillary power doesn't charge those however. The Aux usually only comes on in an emergency, and only holds enough power for impulse engines, life support, and lights. But because of the decks we don't use, some of that power can go into the thrusters, which is what I plan to do as soon I've transferred back.
*Carrie's "body" collapses to the floor and her familiar face reappears on the viewscreen.*
Carrie: YES! I'm
back in business. I'm going to see if I can get any power to the internal
sensors.
By Jackson Dupree on Tuesday, February 06, 2001 - 10:20 pm: |
Dupree
looks at the android body
Ok.. so how are
we going to get this thing back? I bet it's pretty heavy...
Do you want me to
check the external parts of the generator by myself?
By Brian Webber on Wednesday, February 07, 2001 - 03:13 pm: |
Carrie: Not neccasary. Extrenal sensors are working fine. I'm checking for any damage.
*after a few minutes*
Yeah, it's fine.
We can get it working. Once we're in orbit we can skip over to an ST universe
and get our warp drive and hull fixed. And once turbolifts are back on-lin
we can have Hudzen carry that body back down. Now, let's see about those
internal sensors.
By Jackson Dupree on Wednesday, February 07, 2001 - 04:45 pm: |
While
Carrie is dealing with the sensors, Dupree does more investigation on the
strange claw-marks. While searching for fingerprints, Dupree discovers

Carrie, whoever
was here erased a message on the comm panel.. any way to reconstruct the
message?

Hudzen, now in his Data body, makes his way to the bridge. He turns toward a computer terminal.
Communications down.
He scans the computer and detects Carrie

where is the rest of the crew?

Ahz had just finished repairing the final piece of the bulkhead in Engineering when the creature stealthily entered. It quietly crept up behind Ahz and was about to strike with it's good arm when Ahz vanished. The creature looked around and spotted Ahz standing on a console.
I am surprised that you managed to track me this far. I teleported here and left no scent. In any case...
The room filled with tiny glowing balls. On cue, every one of them turned into a miniature version of Ahz's energy sword. And they were all pointed at the creature.
I suggest that you leave here now and never come back. The only way you are going to get out of this room alive is through that hatch.
The blades rearranged
themselves, leaving a corridor to a hatch that led to the outer hull.

The one armed howls a sound reminiscent of a lightsaber activating then attacka Ahz with a violent rage.
Back on the bridge;
Carrie: Well, Jackson is right over there.
*Hudzen truns and jackson waves at him, a sarcastic smile on his face*
Hudzen: Smart ass.
Carrie: Keith, Rita,
Ahz, and Greymoran are still below in his lab near as I can tell. And there's
an indeginous lifeform aboard somewhere. it appears to have accidnetally
deleted a message we received on the dimenional communicator. I'm trying
to retrieve it, but so far no good. I might be able to get a local on the
point of tranmission, but that's only if I'm lucky.

Hello,
what's this?
Jackson bends
down and picks up a bit of white fur
Carrie, scan this
fur and determine it's species.
I was thinking Carrie...
have these various unverses always existed, or did they come into being
when someone thought them up?
For example, the
Star Wars universes... were they always here, or did they start to exist
when George Lucus made the first movie on my world and perhaps a number
of others?
By Hudzen on Thursday, February 08, 2001 - 04:20 pm: |
Hudzen, who wasn't on the bridge yet, enters the bridge.
Is the creature a wampa or is it a different creature from the SW Universe where Luke is a guy and cuts its arm off?
By Brian Webber on Thursday, February 08, 2001 - 11:12 pm: |
Carrie:
It's a Wampa allright. Awfully smart though. Could be dangerous. As for
your question, it came about when Lucas made it up. No one has been able
to prove why an entire universe would come into exsistence just because
someone had a daydream that he turned into a script, but, it does. Of course
it could all be connected to, *carrie stops, closes her eyes, apearing
to think* Um, well, no one knows why it is, but it is. I sometimes wonder
if we're really real, or just some teenage fantasy created by a kid who
needs soem elaborate other reality he can run to when his mother abuses
him and his father steals his money.
By Ahz on Thursday, February 08, 2001 - 11:20 pm: |
The creature attacks Ahz and is wounded by several small energy blades piercing it. Ahz teleports to another part of the room before he is touched.
Why don't you give
this up? You can't win
By Jackson Dupree, interested in the multiverses on Friday, February 09, 2001 - 08:38 am: |
More intelligent
Wampa, huh... Since this isn't the universe that Lucas thought up, anything
could happen... including superintelligent Wampas...
So what about variations
of the original universes? Just general splitting when decisions occur,
or are they influenced by what other people write... such as fan fiction?
Anything you need
me to do? If not, I'll just look through the interdimensional music collection
to see what's avaliable...
By Brian Webber on Friday, February 09, 2001 - 06:34 pm: |
Carrie:
Well, no one's sure. It could quite possibly be both for all we know. And
Wampa's really aren't that stupid. The animals can learn. And if it's the
Wampa I'm thinking of, it has learned how to be careful. Getting your arm
sliced off by a lightsaber can really mess you up I imagine.

Carrie: Was that supposed to be funny? Besides, I can't pick it up on internal sensros. It may have already left.
*Two minutes later*
All righty then. All systems go. We're probably gonna burn out most of the trusters getting out of the gravity well though. And Rita is still too injured to fly us, but I can do it. Carrie to the lab. Keith, Rita, Ahz, Greymoran, report to the bridge.
-
Keith: You hear that sweetie? We're getting off this ice cube.
Rita, groaning: Good. I can't wait to get back behind those controls.
Ahz: Don't think so Mrs. Yeager. You're arm is still too weak. Carrie and Jackson are good pilots. They'll do fine.
Rita, angry: I can fly just fi-OW! *she grabs her broken arm, or rather the cast Ahz put on it*
Keith: The guy's right Reet. You can't fly yet. Now come on.
Ahz: I'll teleport
you to the bridge. I still have to get that monster off the ship.

Aboard
Grey's ship, Grey and TorGal watch in anticipation. An Ambassador-class
starship they stole from the shipyard in STU-98 sits there, it's skeleton
crew working hard to complete the work the Starfleet engineer had started.
"TorGal my friend, if this works, we will have a definate advantage. We'll
have the jump on our enemies. They won't have the benefit of a portal setting
off their warning systems. If the specs I read were correct, we can enter
XDCA controlled areas and not set off any of the dimensionl incursion detectors."
TorGal tilts his head. "But my liege, we destroyed most of them." Grey
nods. "True, but not all of them. There are a total of a dozen systems
where their satellite networks are still intact. There may even be some
XDCA agents still alive in those areas. So we'll hit them next. I belive
we'll start with DSU-1. Then DSU-2. Of course only two DSU's are under
XDCA jurisidction, so naturally they'll be the easiest." TorGal's eyes
narrow. In a human that's a sign of anger. For a Troll, it denotes confusion.
"DSU?" "Dark Sun TorGal. We're going to the Dark Sun world." TorGal's eyes
narrow further. He clearly has no clue what Grey is talking about. "They're
about to begin the test my lord." a voice from behind them says. They turn
to see one of Grey's Vampyres. "Excellent. Return to your post. Only TorGal
and I may view the test. from here. You have to look at your sensors."
He points at the sensor console. The Vampyre slinks away. Grey and TorGal
turn to watch. He presses a button on his console. "Grey here. Do not go
into warp. The warp effect may be confused with a succesful test. We want
to be sure what we see is not a false positive." "Yes milord." a gravely
voice comes back. The ship begins to inch ahead, slowly reaching full impulse.
The ship disappears. Grey smiles. "Excellent. Use the dimensional communicator
to re-call the ship. Dock it in the hangar, and begin work on adapting
the new generator to our vessel. Did the XD sensors detect the dimensional
travel on the ship's part?" The Vampyres look up, smiling. One of them,
a female glides forward, than bows. "According to the sensors the ship
simply disappeared without a trace." Grey's smile grows. He turns to TorGal,
who is also smiling. "Well, well. We now have a new weapon we can use against
the Archangel." TorGal exposes his teeth. "Victory will be ours sir."

Ahz brings Keith and Rita, one at a time, to the bridge.
I'll get rid of out unwanted guest, and then I'll be in my lab. Tootles.
Ahz disappears again. He appears standing on top of the Wampa's head. Before the Wampa can react, Ahz disappears again, taking the Wampa with him. He appears outside the ship still standing on the Wanpa's head. Then, Ahz vanishes again. He appears in front of the door to his lab dusting his hands.
Well, that takes care of that. Ahz to bridge, the Wampa is off the ship. Lets get out of here before it gets back here.
Then Ahz turns
and enters his lab. While the door was open, the smell of fresh air and
the sound of birds comes through the doorway.

Carrie:
All right let's light this candle! Thrusters to maximum! OK, we're sliding
forward, but we're not getting any lift. Ahz? Can you help us get an angle
here?
By Jackson Dupree on Saturday, February 10, 2001 - 07:54 pm: |
Dupree,
who's handling both his own and Rita's position checks his console
I see the problem...
we're on a large ice field...
And as for my Willy
Wampa joke... in 20th century earth, there was a movie called "Willy Wonka
and the Chocolate Factory," and I was just going with Willy Wampa instead
of Willy Wonka...
By Brian Webber on Saturday, February 10, 2001 - 08:08 pm: |
Carrie: Yeah, whatever. Just shut up and let me fly. Thrusters are past full power. If they burn out before we get out of orbit, we'll drop faster than the grosses for the Rocky & Bullwinkle movie.
Ahz: I see a sort of "ramp" ahead Carrie. It's actually a cliff, but it steeps upward just befor the precipice.
Carrie: Good. I'll turn is in that direction. I hope it works.
The Archangel slides
forward, the rear thrusters firing at maximum possible power. The ice behind
it melts. Only the ship's speed keeps it from falling into the exposed
caves. The ship glides forward. It nears the "ramp" that Ahz spotted. It
hits the ramp, flies upward into the air, and starts to sink back down
to the ground.
A roar shatters the ice cliff, as the fully powered thrusters carry the Archangel into space. The Wampa creature with the single arm watches as the ship shoots straight for the sky.
Carrie: YES! We're gonna make it! We're gonna- uh oh"
Rita: What is it?
Carrie:Port and starboard thrusters have burned out. We're slowing down. I'm putting everything I can into the rear thrusters, but that only acclerates the burn out process. If we can keep them going go just a few more seconds..
*The image of the face Carrie chose for herself wavers, and appears to wince.
Carrie: C'mon, c'mon.
*The Archangel, flames encricling her hull, blasts out of the upper atmosphere. The force of her expulsion throws her out of orbit. The thrusters burn out, and the ship drifts downward, into space, away from the planet. The crew breathes a collective sigh of relief.*
Greymoran: Carrie, I think I love you.
Carrie, 'sweating': For a second I thought we weren't going to make it. Atmosphere is quite a drag on this otherwise aerodynamically excellent ship.
Rita: Thank God, we're alive. You can stop burying your face in my neck now Kieth.
Keith: Huh? *he looks around* We-we're alive?
Greymoran, smiles: You bet your arse we are!
The crew, except for Hudzen amd Ahz, grasp each other in a group hug. Carrie smiles upon them.
Carrie: Portal generator has enough juice to get to an STU. Recomendation?
Greymoran: STU-1
Carrie. We can get repairs there.

A portal
opens in front of the Archangel and it goes through. The ship emerges in
the STU-1 and heads for the nearest repair center. When it arrives, Dupree
looks up from his console at the screen with a mix of sadness, excitment,
and other emotions. He turns to Greymoran and says
Sir, can I speak
to you alone?
Dupree and Greymoran
go into the Ready Room just off the bridge
Greymoran: What
do you want to talk to me about, son?
Jackson: Well, sir,
I think I may be having a crisis of identity. The part of me that's the
"clone wanting his
own identity" is happy to be aboard and exploring the various dimensions,
but there's this other side.. The one that still thinks of itself as the
original Tacoman. It wants a more stable lifestyle and a single universe
to explore.
I want to get off
this ship and explore this universe! I want to see the worlds of the Federation!
I want to get a
standard runabout so I can go places. Maybe one with a small portal generator
and a dimentional communicator just in case I want to come back here.
I hope you can understand,
both as a captain and my father.
By Ahz on Monday, February 12, 2001 - 07:32 pm: |
Ahz took the elevator down to the lowest level of his lab. The lowest level was, in fact, a massive hanger, larger than the Archangel itself. In the center of the hanger was an organic looking ship.
The ship appeared to be an oval shape with tentacles stretching aft, nearly doubling the ship's overall length. There were no visible hatches, windows, propulsion methods, sensors, or weapons. The hull almost looked like it was made out of wood.
Ahz sat down an began working on his computer. The image of a woman wearing long, flowing robes appeared. She appeared to be a poor hologram because she was translucent. Ahz could see right through her. When she spoke, she had a soft, gentle voice.
Ahz stopped working
and looked up.
Good morning, Ryo-O.
How are you doing today?
Ryo-O: "Good morning, Ahz. Everything is now operating at full capacity. I was wondering, when are we going to start the test flight?"
In a few more days, I'm sure. There are just a few more things that I want to take care of before then.
She smiled and
nodded.
Ryo-O: "That's good.
I can hardly wait to stretch my legs."
The image of Ryo-O disappeared without a sound. Ahz turned and continued working on his computer.
