Griffin ROTC Army Tops ELHS Navy
The Army ROTC-based Griffin High School Rifle Team improved to 8-2 on the season Thursday with a 1137-1040 point victory over the Eagle's Landing High School Rifle Team.
Griffin's Josh Bennett and Joey Mabry each posted perfect scores of 100 in the prone to lead Griffin. Teammate Jeremy Moore just missed with a 99.
Bennett ended the day with a team-high 290 points. Mabry and Moore each scored 285. Jessica McClain the GHS record set earlier this year by Jennifer Lewis with a 94 standing and a total of 277 on the day. Teammate Justin Lazenby anchored Griffin's win with a 272.
Junior Larry Barge shot a 100 in the prone, 99 in the standing and a 97 in the kneeling to lead Eagle's Landing with a 296.
