Griffin @ Eagle's Landing
Another win keeps Griffin in an undefeated season with a 3 match win streak.
GHS Rifle Team moves to 3-0 after defeating Eagle's Landing in the closest match of the past three seasons. After leading in prone by one point, and standing by 5, Griffin was surprised when Eagle's Landing beat them in kneeling by 3 points.
Senior Jeremy Moore lead Griffin with a 286, a score equal to his average for the season. After shooting a 100 in prone, Moore fired a 90 in standing, and a 97 in kneeling. Co-captains Jessica McClain and Barry Oliver shot 277 and 273, respectively. Freshman Roderick Foster shot a 276 to finish up the Griffin Team. Freshman Micheal Barrett shot 257, a respectable score for a 1st year shooter.
Senior and Team Captain, Larry Barge of Eagle's Landing, shot 292 in the event, high score for the match, after coming out of a season long slump.
"Eagle's Landing is one of my favorite teams to shoot against," said Captain Moore, "They're always nice to us and when we shoot, it always seems like we're shooting with friends." In fact, the two teams invited each other to several events, including an invitation to Eagle's Landing Military Ball for Griffin Captain Jeremy Moore, and an invitation to a team get-together for the ELHS Captain.
