GHS shooter continue to shoot score record
Timothy Bennett, Jeremy Moore, and Jennifer Lewis poster individual scores of 289, 288, and 287 out of the possible 300 points, respectively, to lead Griffin to a 1148 - 1085 win Thursday at Heritage High School.
Griffin improved to 5-1 with the rout as it set a school record for overall score for the fifth time in the past six weeks.
Lewis' score qualifies her for an invitation to the Georgia High School State Match April 15. Moore and Bennett qualified previously to attend the statewide match.
For the second week in a row, a GHS shooter posted a perfect score of 100 in prone, with Bennett taking the honors this week, and Jeremy Moore and Jessica McClain near perfect scoring a pair of 99's to set the stage in this record setting win.
McClain improved her personal best score to 284, and was one point shy of qualifying for the State Match. Justin Lazenby posted one of his best scores of the year and outscored all but one of the Heritage shooters.
