When and how did the Grimmie Greens start?
The Grimmie Greens started in October of 2003. Mak and Sam were in a hardcore band called Anguish of Imbroligo. It went from 3 to 4 to 2 members...Mak and Sam. They added Dakotah and changed styles. They were still AOI for a little while, until they founded the name Grimmie Greens. A new member has been added here recently. Taylor the bassist from Warning Shot jumped aboard the Grimmie Green train and is now a staple member of the band.
How did they come upon this name you ask?
In December of 2003, their friend, and Sam's brother Max got real, real sick, unknowning to the to the GG's, they thought he had overdosed. They asked Max if he had taken drugs, and he said yes, and they asked him what he took, and very delriously Max replied "Grimmie Greens", and the rest is history.
What genre of music do the Grimmie Greens consider themselves a part of?
The style of music the Grimmie Greens play is Punk Rock, not Rawk.
They love the old standards and some new stuff too but when it comes down to it, they just want to rock. With each member contributing his own personal style, outlook, and ability, the band has been successful in sounding different. They are not your average cookie cutter punk band.
They spend time and energy into fueling the Chattanooga Punk scene and strive to make a difference. No matter what people say, the Grimmie Greens are amazing.
