During winter, you should refresh and recondition your equipment again, and our wood pistol grips are no exception.

If you have an oil finish on your grip panels, simply take some 0000 steel wool and lightly buff the panels. This will remove all the surface acids and oils and also remove light scratches. While you're at it, also do the interior of the panels. Oil and crude collect here as well.

Once you have them clean and smooth, take an old T-shirt or soft dish towel and rub them very briskly and with some force. You will begin to see a luster, almost as if you had put a light coat of wax on them. Once you get the luster to your liking, apply a coat of 100% Tung oil, available at all wood working stores. Do this every day for about a week and you will bring those panels back to life.
