Welcome

...to the website of Gregory Robert Morisse.

We will go before God to be judged, and God will ask us,
"Where are your wounds?" And we will say, "We have no wounds."
And God will ask, "Was nothing worth fighting for?"

--Rev. Allan Boesak, South Africa

Faithful God,
draw so near to us in our seeking
that we are kept from the delusion of believing our work is to search,
rather than to discern.
Seekers all, we open ourselves to you,
knowing that in careful process and faithful prayer
you will do for us all that we need and more than we desire.
Keep us honest about who we are, whose we are, and why we are...
that truth may foster healthy relationships...
Through this time of discernment, open us in new and surprising ways,
that smallness of heart and prejudice of mind
might never limit the ways you would bring us together. Amen.

This prayer is printed each month on the first page of the United Church of Christ Job Listings. Though it is intended to speak specifically to calling bodies and those authorized for ministry, I have found it to be a powerful prayer for the rest of my life as well.
