Range: Stony Clove has a 100 yard outdoor range with three firing points. Open seven days a week from 10 AM until 5 PM. Can shoot shotgun, black powder, rifle, clay pigeons with hand trap, or archery (no 3D available), unless the yellow flags are up.
Turkey Shoots: The annual Turkey Shoot is schedueled for September 29, 2002. Rain date October 6, 2002. Open to the Public.
Hunter Safety Education Courses: Held every fall for gun and for bowhunting. Dates to be announced.
Annual Dinner Buffet: Date to be announced. All-You-Can-Eat BBQ, held at Al's Seafood Restaurant, Phoenicia. Raffles and dancing.
Kids' Fishing Derbies: The annual ice-fishing derby held on February 16th, 2002 at Tannersville Lake saw 8" of good ice, with partly sunny skies and temps in the 30 - 40 degree range. Fifty-seven children registered, catching a good amount of pickerel and yellow perch. Prizes were awarded for "biggest fish" and "most fish" in the junior and senior divisions. All children received a prize and were given hot chocolate and all the hot dogs they could eat. This derby is for youths up to age 15. Date of 2003 derby to be announced.
An open-water derby is held annually in late spring at Tannersville Lake. June 2003 date to be announced. Each child is given a prize. Free refreshments for the children. Children must be accompanied by a parent. Open to the public.
These derbies are co-sponsored by Stony Clove and the Catskill Mountain Fish & Game Club. Both derbies are open to the public.
