Cody ran the 5K race in 30min 25sec. He ran in the memory of his friend Dakota. He finished 1 min per mile faster than he trained. We are so proud of him for setting a goal and doing his best to reach that goal, all for a good purpose. His shirt is blue & gold to represent Boy Scout colors b/c Cody & Dakota were in the same Den together. His T-shrit says 4 Dakota, and mine says 4 Chris (My brother, Cody's Uncle) who also just recently passed away. We ran together.
Other than training for a race & running it...and playing baseball...and camping a number of times....
He also had 2 weeks of swim lessons (he graduated to level 4) and started conditioning for his 3rd year of Pop Warner Football. He's very athletic & can do whatever he sets his mind to. He's not real keen on starting 3rd grade, he knows it's not all fun & games at this point in school. He got a teacher with a great reputaton, however, & I know he'll do fine. This Summer we also went to 2 fairs, went to the zoo, visited our relitives in OH for a long weekend and had our Cousins over a few times. I can understand not wanting to go back to school, we had a great summer together.
