[SAVE ZETA: THE TZP LETTER WRITING CAMPAIGN]
TZP is going on hiatus again- but this time it may not be back. This show has pulled in great ratings this season and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense on Kids' WB's part to pull it; they may be looking for fan response. This is where YOU come in!
We have to let Kids' WB know that we love this show and want to see it remain on its current station- and that we'd be ecstatic to see a third season! Write as much email and snail mail as it takes to fully express your love for The Zeta Project. I've included some letter writing tips and an easy letter format below if you need some help getting started. The banners at the bottom of the page are there to promote participation in this campaign- if you have a web site (TZP-related or not) please post a banner on it (or make your own!).
J'Freak has recently brought a new twist to this campaign; although our letters should still be aimed towards Kids' WB for a new season, we should ALSO be writing to Cartoon Network asking them to air reruns (they've had great success with Batman Beyond, after all!). While this means that we'll have to double our efforts in letter-writing, it also means that we'll double the possibility of seeing this great series on TV again!
The more people we have involved in this project, the more successful it will be- tell everyone you know about it and encourage them to help! Thanks in advance for your dedication!
Let's start writing!
Be positive and polite- you don't want to offend or annoy Kids' WB (or Cartoon Network) if you're asking them for a favor. Thank them for airing the series thus far and tell them how much you love the show and why you think it should stay on the air- preferably with a brand new season!
Keep your letters short (no longer than a page) and focused. It's good to point out what you like about the series but make sure that you don't keep repeating yourself or straying to subjects that don't have much to do with TZP.
Since we don't know exactly who we're sending these letters to, use a polite (but vague) opening line, such as "To Whom it may concern," or "Dear Kids' WB (Cartoon Network) Staff."
Send both email AND snail mail; snail mail is bulky and takes up space (meaning, it gets noticed). It also shows that you're dedicated enough to spend time, effort, and postage rates to talk to them.
If your handwriting is nice and clear, write your letters the old-fashion way; it shows that you've spent extra time on your letter. And if you type your letters, make sure to sign them by hand- it's warmer.
Go over your letters a few times before you send them off- make sure that the spelling, grammar, and punctuation are all correct! If you're not very good at proofreading, let someone else who is look at it (I'd be happy to do this for you, just email me). Again, making sure that your letter is perfect before it's sent is another way to show Kids' WB that you've spent time and effort writing it.
If you think it will help get your letter noticed (or grant you a soft spot with the letter reader) send fanart! It can't hurt! (But don't expect to see your drawings returned...).
Send as many letters as you can but make sure to space them out a few days apart- you don't want ten of your letters arriving on the exact same day because the staff will probably only read one and skim the rest (or completely disregard them).
Be original with each letter- you can say the same stuff but say it differently. Use new words, new letter formats, different colors of paper, anything that sets it slightly apart from your last message.
Be patient- Kids' WB and Cartoon Network should respond to your letters but it may take several weeks. Just remember that we're all working toward a great goal- getting TZP back on the air (and hopefully with a new season).
