NOSE ART
It has always been a tradition to paint images on the nose of aircraft. It could include the name of a loved one ,or something popular at the time. The 119th's centered around the unit patch. They would display the pride of the crew chief. Most of the covers were painted locally. They would last until someone decided that it had to be removed. Below is a picture of "SWEET IRENE". She was a slick.
