1000 GRULLAS DE PAPEL
Saludos, me llamo Germán Foggia, vivo en Argentina y hace unos meses comencé a hacer 1000 grullas de papel porque, según la leyenda japonesa, si doblas 1000 grullas en un año, tendrás buena suerte para el resto de tu vida y se te cumplen tus deseos. La meta está cumplida y mi deseo es que todos los que vean esta página tengan una vida larga, saludable, próspera y pacífica.

Greetings, my name is Germán Foggia, i live in Argentina and a couple of mounths ago i´ve started to make 1000 paper cranes because, according to the japanese legend, if you fold 1000 cranes in a year, you will have good luck for the rest of your life and your wishes come true. The goal is complete and my wish is that all people who watch this page have a long, healty, prosper and peaceful life.

La conocida historia de Sadako y las mil grullas de papel

Cuando Sadako Sasaki tenía dos años de edad, una bomba atómica cayó sobre su ciudad, Hiroshima, Japón.
A los doce años de edad, los doctores descubrieron que tenía  leucemia, un tipo de cáncer causado por la bomba atómica.
Su amiga Chizuko le habia contado la historia de las 1000 grullas de papel: "La historia es que si estás enfermo y haces 1000 grullas de papel, los dioses te curarán tu enfermedad".
Asi es que Sadako se propuso la meta de hacer mil grullas de papel. Sin embargo cuando ella murió, solo tenía 644 grullas completadas.
Años después de que Sadako murió, niños de su ciudad dedicaron una estatua de ella con una grulla en su mano, en un parque. Sadako y las mil grullas son ahora un símbolo de paz alrededor del mundo.


The known history of Sadako and the one thousand paper cranes

Back when Sadako Sasaki had two years old, an atomic bomb fell over her city, Hiroshima, Japan.
At the age of twelve, the doctors discovered that she had leukemia, a kind of cancer caused by the atomic bomb.
Her friend Chizuko told her the history of the 1000 paper cranes: "The history is that if you are sick and make 1000 paper cranes, the gods will heal your disease".
Thats how Sadako proposed herself the goal of making one thousand paper cranes. However, when she died, only had 644 completed cranes.
Years after Sadako´s death, children of her city dedicated a statue of she with a crane in her hand, in a park. Sadako and the one thousand cranes are now a symbol of peace around the world.
