The significance of MOOSE in Ron's and my life is actually multi-fold. Firstly in the wilderness of Canada Ron had often encountered this wild species and apparently had an affinity for them Since Ron aspired to be a painter of Bob Ross ilk the first painting he ever attempted was of a mountain and field with a Moose in it....the moose did not turn out so well and was often something Ron joked about....but it was a moose never the less. Then part of our play on the computer was in our user ID's on the text and voice chat program we used to stay in touch over the miles and often we were Moose and Squirrel or Boris and Natasha and since we both loved Bullwinkle we often imitated or quoted lines from it. The first time I went to Montreal to visit Ron I searched for an appropriate arrival gift for him and found the perfect thing.....it was a small stuffed and adorable MOOSE! In time this moose became my eyes and smile he could gaze at and draw strength from when we were apart.....and now....this cute little moose has perched atop the urn with Ron's ashes and they are his eyes and smile upon whom I gaze and often talk to or kiss on the nose. |
