Tacuara is the name of a rare kind of bamboo cane that within its uses has the one to constitute all and each one of the plates in an indian marimba, of the same one can be constructed indian flutes and some other items related to the South American popular crafts.
Tacuara is also the name of the grouping conformed by five talented musicians dedicated to the diffusion of Latin American music (mainly the Andean) in Mexico.
Tacuara group is currently playing in the main plaza of Coyoacan next to the arcs of Saint Jhon Baptiste's Church in Mexico City every Saturday and Sundays after 16:30 hrs. and biweekly every Sunday in main plaza of Tepotzotlan, State of Mexico, around 11:00 hrs.
This page is destined to the promotion of the group as well as to the diffusion of any idea about this singular sort of music.
The use of quenas, sikus, charango, bombo legüero, guitar, tiple, venezuelan cuatro, etc. in a mixture of traditional rhythms from all Latin America, deeply distinguishes the sounds of this group doing it one of the most important diffusion vias for this sort of music in our country.
