The life of a person, and except the one of a monk, cannot understood in fullness or being locked up in a formula, or on a vision, the things seen are based with not seen, that they are most important and they represent the impulses of the core, the reasons, the goals the ideals. Of these, that are the fine weave of the personality, normally it is not spoken, and he is complicated and until dangerous making a order. But we will not be those that we will forget the memory the father Colombo, nor the city of San Vicente de Tagua Tagua who has thought immediately about perpetuating his memory, named one of its new streets, that from December of 1995 takes the name of  " Father Cristóforo Colombo Serafín " - sign without a doubt of the recognition and esteem by the pastoral work developed by him during the 36 years lived in Chile, most of them in San Vicente -.

 He was born in Monza (Italy) the 21 of September of 1922, son of Alberto and Maria first-born Serafín of other two sisters. At the age of 7 years already he attended the Oratorio of of the Carrabiolo in Monza, where he distinguished himself by his attendance, goodness and mercy. In spite of feeling from small attracted by the religious life, as soon as finished his basic education he was put by his father (who was driver), to work. First like apprentice of decorador, soon like mechanic in a garage, and finally, like employee in one rotisería. In 1938 he requested to enter our Congregation. Little being become fond of to the studies, he wished to be received in her like " brother "; but the Parents, who knew well their qualities, sent it to the School of the Sacred Heart, in Voghera, where while he was the one in charge of the mediopupilos, Attended average education, distinguishing itself by his application, he disciplines and effort.

In 1942, officially it is accepted by the congregation and envoy to Monza to do the noviciado one, and at the end of him it professed the religious votes in the hands of P. Provincial Angelo Mauri the 8 of September of 1943. Often Colombo was listened to to him P. speak on the influence exerted on he himself and many young people more by the noviciado one of his native city, in addition to the Oratorio of the Carrobiolo with his multiple activities. He did not let pass the occasion " to throw the hint " to the superior ones that they had changed the seat of the noviciado one, convinced that the single presence of the beginners, he represented a magnet, and a pole of attraction. Without a doubt the noviciado one has meant for him an important part of its vocation. They were the years of the war, difficult and complicated, that they have also forged its spirit of dedication. For him and their companions, are referring permanent this one to give the decisive space indeed to the gentleman while the pain whips to the men. The war, between so many necessities, leaves of manifesto that the man needs horizons, breath, more solid foundations to recompose the laceraciones that autoinflinge when it loses the bonds with his roots, and is conceited to walk single. Paradojalmente to these young people who were in formation during this so distressing period the same stormy reality them imprimió an indelible seal, of divine presence to all test. Our Chilean Province, has been and is benefitted by the admirable service of several of them. Finished the noviciado year of was sent to estudiantado San Pablo in Florence for the superior studies; from in 1946 it must there go to Milan for the Propedéutica and in 1947 to Rome for the Theology. It returned to Monza in the summer of 1948 by three months of preparation for the solemn Profession, that emitted into the hands of General P. Idelfonso Clérici the 8 of September; the tonsura the 20 of December of 1947 by monsignor Alfonso Carinci, in our church of San Carlos, Rome; the two first smaller orders by monsignor Lucca Pasetto the 13 of March of 1948 in Santa Ines de Agone, the other two smaller orders the 22 of May by monsignor Carinci in San Carlos; presbiteriado by monsignor Francisco Peretti in the Basilica of the Twelve Apostles Saturday Santo 8 of April of 1950, Year Santo.Year 1950/51 receives the destination to the community of San Bernabé of Milan, where it evolves like Vice-Rector of our Zaccaria Institute, spiritual director of the blind Institute and chaplain of the nuns of San Vicente. In the Autumn of 1951 it was transferred to the community of San Felipe in Like, being in charge of the Oratorio from which it kept - in addition to excelentes remembers- very good friends; during year 1956/57 it is of Director of oratorio of Voghera, and also like professor of Religion in our School; between 1957 and 1959 it is destined to our Community San Antonio Maria Zaccaria de 1959 · Galliano-Eupilio being in charge of Spiritual Retirements (" ritiri minimi " calls them in its personal card), and of the Predicación and aid to the near Parish priests; in 1959 it concludes his apostolic work in Italy...
